About Karen

10 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hi there. I am Karen. I would love to care for your doggie(s) while you're away! My home includes a funny 3-year-old standard poodle, Otis, a sweet and silly 2-year-old standard poodle, Sydney, and a wonderful 14-year-old cat named Kona (dogs don't necessarily need to be cat friendly, see below.) My dogs love to play, eat, sleep, and play some more. They spend a good amount of time playing in the fenced yard during the day and also enjoy a morning hike and often evening hike at Redwood Regional Park, Anthony Chabot Regional Park, or Sibley. We may also take a trip to Albany bowl during the week for some much needed beach fun. My family could be a great substitute for your family while you are away....lots of cuddles included!

If your dog isn't necessarily cat friendly, that is ok. Kona has her own part of the house and she is kind of a lone wolf, preferring to spend most of her time in the front yard away from the dogs.

Karen is great with our Doodle. She is flexible on drop/pick times, and her two poodles are great playmates.
Karen was wonderful, we are glad to have found someone local who can watch our dog! She lives in a safe, cute neighborhood and has a nice house and backyard. Her resident dogs were very welcoming to my dog right away. Karen was easy to communicate with via dogvacay, and flexible about drop off and pick up times. We got multiple updates with pictures and we felt at ease the entire time Zane was at her house. We highly recommend Karen, and plan on asking her first every time we need someone to look after Zane. Thanks Karen!

Karen was a great host! Summer had a great time playing with Otis and Sydney. They went on long hikes and enjoyed time at the beach!! What a fun stay with great company! It was extra nice for Karen to send pictures of their adventures so I could see Summer while I was away.

Karen was great! She responded quickly and was even flexible when trying to arrange a meet and greet. She went above and beyond taking Lola on a hike and to the beach in the same day! Lola came back happy and exhausted, I would 100% recommend Karen to anyone and will for sure be using her again.

This was my 1st experience using Dog Vacay and I am very fortunate and lucky that Karen was the host for my dogs (Sandy & Ziggy). She took awesome care of my doggies. I received updates and pictures of my dogs while they were under her stay, which made it very comfortable for me. My dogs got the love and attention as they do while with me. They were on hikes, walks and got played on the beach too. Karen and her partner are very nice people and awesome with dogs. I truly believe my dogs miss her and Otis. I would definitely use her again and totally recommend her as a host for your dog(s).

Karen treated our dog, Jordan, like her own! He can be a handful, but she handled him with ease.
He got along great with her sweet poodle, Otis. I know this because Karen was even thoughtful enough to send pictures of the two dogs playing on the beach, napping side-by-side, and playing in her backyard. It was so nice to get updates about Jordan while we were out of town.
Her home is perfect to host dogs; her house is not on a busy street, and they have a fully fenced, shady backyard that is quiet and perfect for dogs to get some exercise, or just relax outdoors.
I would absolutely recommend Karen to anyone!
Oh, and did I mention Karen picked Jordan up and dropped him off to accommodate our hectic flight schedule. She really is the ideal dogsitter:)
