Welcome to Good Karma Petsitters. We provide petsitting and playdates in a knowledgeable and pet friendly home environment.
In the past we have served as team leader and volunteer coordinator of the Pensacola branch of the Emerald Coast Golden Retriever Rescue.
In this capacity, we were responsible for the assessment, and intake of babies running the gamut from strays and pound pups to owner surrenders.
We fostered dozens of pooches from various situations and many definitely needed more attention than others, which we found ourselves instinctively inclined to provide with help from Karma, our original Golden.
As a result, Karma and our many foster babies trained us to provide basic training, socialization and trust, and the ability to find the best forever home for each individual rescue pup, based on the characteristic of both the fur baby and the adopting family. This included performing home checks, obtaining references from potential adoptees, and considering the full approval of our foster babies.
Although we now no longer volunteer or foster, we work as part-time associates for a holistic pet food company and we work in the pet stores to educate pet parents of the importance of their best friend’s nutrition. One of the perks is meeting and petting new dogs.
Fortunately, this arrangement allows for at least one of us to always be at home to be petting our own dogs, and, of course, our welcomed guests.
Our babies are Golden Retrievers: Cali who is 6 and Brandi who is 10. They are both rescues and both have the sweetest personalities. They help to make new dogs feel welcomed and at home, and they haven't met a dog yet they did not like.
We also have one inside cat, a beautiful Abysinnian named Abby, and 2 outside cats who prefer to cat around. And, of course,we can’t forget about Bun E Carlos, our Dutch bunny who has no idea that he is not a dog.
All of our pack members get along great with each other and most of our sociable guests, so if you have a buddy who enjoys play dates with a variety of animals, we can make that happen.
However, in case of doggie drama, we do indeed have 2 separate fenced yards (over 1/2 acre) and 2 separate screened in porches for guests who may not enjoy fraternizing. So, if you have a dog who needs sitting, but needs to be kept in a separate yard area from other pets, this may be accommodated on a case by case basis.
In addition to many inside areas for lounging, we also have a room for kitties, bunnies, or other small pets who would rather not be bothered with the business of other species.
We also offer the service of bathing your friend to send them home to you fresh and clean and can even arrange a photo shoot with our favorite professional pet photographer.
We never overbook and always take into consideration the eccentricities of each individual guest so that we are able to provide each client with our personal attention.
We currently offer doggy daycare (in addition to overnight boarding)! I’d be happy to keep your pup entertained while you’re away for the day.
