Kelly has watched my puppy Dempsey several times now and I highly recommend her as a dogvacay host!

Dempsey jumps out of the car and runs towards the front door every time we get to Kelly's house. What really stands out about Kelly is just how willing she was to work with my dog's stomach-sensitivity issues (which requires special meals of powder and pumpkin at each meal). She had no problem making me feel comfortable that everything would be fine and that Dempsey would be well cared for, or that she would watch out to make sure Dempsey wasn't given any food that she was allergic too.

Kelly always provides me with a text/photo or two to let me know exactly what Dempsey has been up to (whether it is playing with water bottles or what movies they watched), so I always know what my pup has been up to.

Most importantly, I trust Kelly enough to be a frequent return customer, and at this point it feels more like I am dropping my puppy off at a family friend rather than a "boarder" per se.

I can't speak to the specifics of the other reviewer on here who seemed to have a negative interaction with late fees and other issues with her dogvacay stay, but Kelly has been nothing short of kind and accommodating when it comes to Dempsey. Dempsey gets bottled water just like Kelly's golden retriever Drake, and I have never heard any complaints about having to give my dog water.

Kelly has also really come through for me on short notice recently when I found out I would be flying out of town for a weekend the night before. I cannot recommend her enough and I am confident that Kelly and her family look after Dempsey and treat her like a part of their own when she is staying there.

I was a bit uncomfortable leaving my pups once I saw how this host seemed to be unused to caring for more than one dog at a time. Her tone and constant reprimanding of her own dog in turn made both her dog and my two dogs more anxious and excited than they already were (excitement which should be expected at a first meeting - they're pups). She was unhappy with the fact that they wouldn't all go to sleep when she told them to, and became increasingly frustrated with the dogs for still being excited after being there for about 30 mins. I was unsure why she felt that repeatedly raising her voice to say her dog's name over and over would calm them down. I was also bothered by the fact that she was only allowing her dog to drink water, excluding my dogs from having anything to drink despite the fact that all three were panting heavily from excitement. Once water was finally given to my dogs, she complained about the fact that the three dogs went through 5 plastic bottles of water in a matter of minutes. I was unsure why this was an issue.

Unfortunately, I did not have a choice and had to let them stay, because I needed to go out of town the following morning. Although I initially appreciated the host offering to let them come the night before the initial drop-off was scheduled (to make things easier on everyone, she said), I was concerned as to how my dogs would be treated while I was away from the moment I left.

I received no updates, other than her saying they were ok, and asking me how to get my one dog to fall asleep. Not only have I never had an issue getting my dogs to sleep, but I have never had a host ask me such a question, or have anything but good reports about my pups. I received no photos, and no other updates.

Unfortunately, on my way home from out of town to pick them up, I ran late due to getting lost and getting stuck in traffic. The host proceeded to send me a charge for an additional $60 for arriving late to pick them up, despite the fact that my arrival was unfortunately beyond my control. Upon my arrival at the host's home, she opened the door for me without a word and walked away to let the dogs out of the area in which they were gated. My apology for being late was greeted with a "hmph," and the host said nothing else to me. The host's young daughter let me know that my one pup didn't eat much while she was there, which would have been something I would have liked to have been updated on before that point.

I have never come to pick up my dogs and had them be so anxious to leave - usually it is the exact opposite, and I have to drag them out because they've enjoyed themselves! I am concerned as to how my pups were treated and would not recommend this host to anyone.
