I am a lifelong animal lover and have volunteered in the past to foster and rehabilitate cats and dogs for animal rescue groups. Your dog will be as well cared for in my home as he'd be in yours. I will make sure that you as an owner are completely at ease having your fur kid in my care, and I will send you updates as often as you'd like. My husband Joe works full time, but loves coming home from work to play with the different pups in our care. I'm an artist who works from home and am available day and night to make sure your dog has an amazing stay with us. Our house has a fenced yard, and we're just minutes from the off leash area at Gabriel Park. We have a reverse osmosis system, so your dog will only get the best filtered water while in our care.
Our basset hound Duke is friendly to other dogs, but a bit grumpy to human guests and will give you a proper basset hound howl upon your arrival. He loves having doggie friends over for sleepovers and will chase and wrestle with his doggie pals. He gets along well with large and small breeds because even though he is a large breed, he's a shortie who stands eye level with most smaller friends. He tends to be low energy most of the time and is easy going.
From taking care of so many breeds, I've learned that all dogs are different. Maybe your dog wants to endlessly play fetch, just wants to sit and chew on her favorite toy, or wants to curl up on someone's lap. We allow dogs on the furniture, and your dog can snuggle in bed with us at night if she chooses. It's usually helpful to bring along your pup's favorite toy or his special blanket/bed that he always sleeps on unless your dog is possessive/aggressive of personal items. Does your dog hate it when someone takes away his toy or really dislike having his belly rubbed? Telling me about your pet's quirks is really helpful as well.
My house has big, low windows facing the street, and I've found that the dogs love gazing out at passers-by. We spend much of the day out playing and sunbathing in the yard, but dogs are never left unattended while outside. I don't go to the park every day, but make it a few times a week depending on the particular dogs in my care. We have plenty of toys and soft places to nap. Your dog will get individual attention and care while staying with us because we care about quality not quantity and want to build lasting relationships with repeated guests. My garden home is a pup's paradise, and my regular clients say that their dogs are always excited to come over.
A meet and greet is required before I can commit to your dog's first stay, even for last minute bookings, because my highest priority is ensuring a great stay for all my guests. I might request having your dog over for a few hours (at no cost) before committing to an extended stay as dogs sometimes act differently in the absence of their owners. Some owners even prefer to book a day of daycare before a long stay.
For dog boarding stays shorter than 6 nights, an additional day of daycare will be charged if you need to pick up your dog after 12pm. I can accommodate pick ups as late as 9pm and drop offs as early as 7am. I will try my best to accommodate your scheduling needs.
I charge extra for holidays and for certain special needs dogs as well.
We were previously located in the Greenway neighborhood in Beaverton.
I offer a 50% discount on my pet portraits to all of my pet sitting clients as well as to your friends and family. $75 (reg $150). Please ask for more details if interested.
