About Gabby

10 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I am a writer and an animal lover happy to help take care of your buddy when you are away or at work. With many years of experience caring for my own pets and others, you can trust that he or she is in great hands. I have a large house in Oakland with access to great walking and hiking trails, a big yard to relax in, and—because I work from home on my own schedule—pets in my care will never be left unattended. I am excited to meet you and your pet!

Gabby loves animals--all kinds. And she "gets them" and their individual needs and quirks. She is responsible, consistent, calm, and caring. She has taken care of our dogs, cats, horses, and chickens. Animals respond very positively to her and quickly show her a great deal of trust. People I know have been amazed at how their pets respond to her, even pets that are typically standoffish and shy. She is pretty fearless but she also starts where the animal is, moving slowly in a new situation. Animals love her and respond very well to her. Several people had spent quite a while trying to capture a mangy looking stray in a public park. Gabby sat quietly and after a while the dog approached her and sat down beside her. She was able to get the dog groomed, treated, and taken care of. She had a similar experience with a feral cat,who over a couple of weeks, grew to trust her enough to come inside and who eventually became a loving pet.
