Furbaby Friends
Pet care experience
Hello Y'all (that's how Texan's say it, right?)! As you may have guessed, I'm not a Houston native, but I moved here from North Dakota over two years ago & am pretty settled in! I grew up with dogs (or furbabies as I like to call them) all my life. Most of our family pups were/are labs; we also have a Bernese Mountain Dog who weighs in at about 120lbs of pure lap dog! So I'm used to big furbabies, but have experience with little ones too! When I made the decision to relocate to Houston, I had to say goodbye to our family dogs (my sister's would not part with them) & start my life down here! Looking to get my furbaby fix, I started volunteering at Friends for Life Animal Shelter. I went from volunteer to adopter (hazard of the job I guess!) in about a month when I welcomed Duke into my life. I run my own business from home which gives me a lot of freedom & time to spend with Duke & any other furbaby visitors we have! A day in the life of Duke (& visitors) would go a little like this: -Wake-up, breakfast time & a walk around the block. -Nap time, play time, nap time, play time... (you get the idea...). -Dog park (our favorites include TC Jester or Johnny Steele) for at least an hour. OR -Walk around the neighborhood. We usually go a minimum of 2 miles. *With the warmer temperatures setting in, we plan our walks during the cooler times of the days & do a couple shorter walks instead of one long one! -Dinner time, nap time, play time, bed time! Due to my small space, I am only accepting smaller dogs (any age) at this time. The pups will receive 24/7 supervision with the exception of a quick errand or meeting (1-2 hours max) each day. I also request an information packet I provide be filled out for first time boarders & updated as needed for additional stays! Please send me a message with any questions you may have or for a personalized quote for services! *I can be flexible & make exceptions in certain instances--please ask any questions & we can discuss further! **Holiday rates will apply--will send custom quotes for boarding during holidays!
Reviews
Jen has years of experience with dogs from potty training puppies to those wise in their doggie years. Her energy is great and she is able to provide a playful atmosphere for your dog while maintaining control in every situation. My dog loves hanging out with her! She is centrally located in Houston and very close to dog parks, swimming areas, and shaded walking paths, which is great for outdoor exercise. Jen loves the outdoors and works remotely from home so she is able to spend the majority of the day with your dog, tending to any of his/her needs. She is a volunteer at a dog shelter and her love for dogs and ability to care for them makes her an excellent dog-sitter.
