About Amy

32 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Thanks for stopping by to consider us for your pets vacation home. We are ready, willing and able to care for all your dog's needs. We treat each of our guests as if they were our own, with plenty of love and attention.

We have great walking paths for daily exercise. We have a big living room/family space with room for everyone. Each day includes exercise, feeding, play time, treats (if you allow) and snuggles. We do not allow dogs on our furniture, unless we are holding them (smaller in size of course). We do not allow guests to sleep in our beds, do to a discovery of some family members having allergic reactions to some breeds. We are open to working with any special requests you have for your pet's care. It is our goal to provide you with regular updates during your pets stay with us.

I (Amy) have experience with many different types of dogs and dog issues thru volunteer work with a rescue group and many years of dog ownership. We prefer to have a meet and greet prior to an overnight visit or extended stay. A typical meet and greet includes introductions in a neutral location (on the public sidewalk, etc) for our pets comforts. We can visit while the dogs become comfortable. Followed by a brief inside tour. I like to learn as much as I can about your dogs normal day to day routines. Some might say I am one paw short of being the crazy dog lady. At time, I have had up to 7 dogs in my home at one time. We occasionally will over book ourselves, particularly over the holidays, so that your pet can be in a loving home while you enjoy family and friends.

My household consists of my husband and I, my 18 year old daughter, and occasionally my 11 year old step-son. We also have an adult roommate who loves dogs and provides added attention to your dog's needs. We are all dog lovers. Kids will not be left unattended with the dogs in our care. The adults in the household are the ones responsible to provide the care for our guests.

Three days a week (Tues-Thurs), we work away from home. Guests in our care will be unattended for up to 8 hrs on those days. Depending on guests needs and preferences, dogs may be kenneled during that time or in separate rooms with baby gates to ensure everyone's safety while we must be at work. Walks and attention will be provided immediately upon our return home.

We love developing relationships with our guests and providing a family environment, when you must be away from your pets. We consider our repeat guests an extension of our family.

All contacts will be returned promptly. We can not accept dogs with aggression towards others (dogs, humans or food aggression). Until we have a fenced yard, we will be selective of any larger breed dogs as guests. We have been at our new location for almost a year and I am happy to say the fence is planned for early this spring!!

Thank you for reading my book. :-) I like to provide as much information up front as I can so we all have clear expectations.

This was our first stay with a DogVacay provider.
Also, Emma, our 2 yr. old Maltese, had only ever
had one overnight away from us. Emma stayed
with Amy, her family and pets, for 4 1/2 days.
After meeting Amy for our meet and greet I felt
very confident that Amy was very capable and
dependable, and would give Emma loving care.
Amy sent us updates as to how Emma was playing
with the 8 month old puppies, and calming down
around the big lab - no longer barking at it, but keeping her distance. I am really hoping this
experience will carry over, and that Emma will not
be so afraid of large dogs. (Emma is 4.8 lbs)
We were very pleased with this stay at Amy's
home, and very pleased that Emma would
be welcomed back. Thank you Amy!
Amy and Shane took great care of our dog. We appreciated their updates and pictures of him while in their care. They were very flexible with our drop off and pickup times due to unexpected schedule changes and airline delays. I would recommend Amy!
Amy did an awesome job with out two kittens Dominio and Minsky. I would use Amy again the next time we go on vacation.
Amy and her family were fantastic! They took care of our dog for many days in a row and I knew my dog was in good hands!
Amy and her family were perfect hosts. Lacy came home happy and tired! Amy sent me an update during Lacy's stay which was very helpful. I am looking forward to our future dogvacay relationships. Thanks Amy!
Amy and her family are fantastic. Its a safe, loving, fun place for my dog to spend her holidays while we are traveling.
I am so happy to have found Amy, I don't worry about My 12 year old golden retriever, Sydney, any more when I have to be out of town…she has a second home. We both love Amy and her family! Kathy Albarella
we have left our golden retriever with the traditional kennels and it has not faired well at all. Sydney seemed to be nervous and needed to be around us for quite awhile like she felt as if we would abandon her again.

A co-worker mentioned DogVayCa and she said would never use anything traditional kennel again.

So I researched and set up a couple meet and greets and Amy was the one. we tried an over night and that seem to go very well. Amy and her family are very caring and loving of the animals they bring into her home.

I think the Amy's dog Tessa was great company for Sydney as well.

I am so happy to have found an alternative to the traditional kennels and especially glad I found Amy. Sydney has a second home to go to and I will be able to not worry about her well being as she is being taken care very well.

Amy is a very kind person and you can just tell she loves animals. Our dog is always happy to go see Amy. We use her exclusively when we travel.
I was very pleased with Amy. In addition to great care for my dog, Rocky. She also sent me pictures of him.
