My name is Clark, I'm 27 and have been walking dogs for almost three years now. It started as a temporary job, but I fell in love with it and plan to keep walking for as long as possible! I adore all my dogs, and get excited for work every morning.
Walks last at least an hour, unless it is extremely hot or cold outside, to the point where it's dangerous for them. I try to take the dogs to place where they can run off leash. The mountain, the summit, a few places in the west island etc. In the summer, I also try to take them swimming at least once a week. When I get a new dog, I like to take them to a dog run for the first one or two walks. This is just so we can bond a bit, and I can get used to their habits and behaviour. It's also an easy way for them to meet the rest of the pack and get to know them. I can also do solo walks, if necessary.
I recently moved (finally!) into a dog friendly building, so I can now board dogs as well. The apartment is a small two bedroom. Dogs that are boarded will come on the group walk in the morning, and go on at least two other long walks throughout the day. I'm a homebody, so except for the gym and random errands, I'll for the most part be home with the dogs!
