Growing up, we had two border collies. They were great family pets. One was a deaf puppy from the others first litter. She had two litters all together. It was a great experience for us growing up. We taught the deaf one sign language, and both of them were very well trained.
During the school year, my Mom had taught them to run upstairs, jump on our beds, and lick us in the face until we got up when she would say, "Go wake the boys up.". Both dogs have since passed away, and our family now has 2 wheaten tarriers. They're the most animated dogs I've ever known. We joke about my Mom replacing us with the dogs since she got them around the time we had both moved out.
I'm a creative digital nomad. I moved out here to Los Angeles about 4 years ago with 2 months of rent in my pocket. I've been able to offer my design/development services and get by as a full-time freelancer ever since.
I work from home and have a super flexible schedule, so I though it'd be great to look after a dog every now and again.
