About Stewart

13 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hello my name is Stewart! I grew up with a yellow lab and have always loved dogs. I don't have a dog of my own at the moment and I need my "dog fix" every once in awhile. I am also a newly converted cat lover and I would love to sit for your cat as well. I would love to give all of your animal(s) some much needed TLC while you are away! I love going for dog walks and providing ample opportunities for playtime. I prefer to pet sit in your home to help alleviate any anxieties your animals have and I like to maintain your routine with your animals. I know this helps them feel more comfortable while their humans are gone!

I am a doctoral student so I will be in class twice a week for a few hours at a time and at my practicum/work three times a week from approximately 9-5. I work and go to school in the Arlington and Washington DC area so I would prefer to sit for clients who live within a short distance of both locations. I would be sure to spend as much time in your home as possible with your dog when I am not in class or at practicum. I can discuss my specific work and class schedule with you when you send me a request. Looking forward to meeting you and your animal(s)!

From the moment I met Stewart at the meet and greet till I returned home from my trip, I felt relieved to have found a dog sitter I can trust and who is willing to stay at my house with them. Stewart was very conscientious during the meet and greet and both my pups took to her quickly. She sent me pics and updates which reassured me while I was away. One of my pups was a recent rescue adoptee and can be standoffish at first, but Stewart's calm demeanor easily won him over and they were instant cuddle-buds. My pups were in great spirits when I returned and I could not be more pleased. I have already inquired about Stewart staying with them several more dates in the future! Many thanks Stewart!

Stewart was phenomenal. From our meet-and-greet, she made me feel so comfortable about her hanging with my pups and staying at my house. She let me ramble on and on about them and patiently listened as I went over ever mundane detail (up to making sure the screen door is pulled shut to ensure it is latched). She even took notes! When it came time for her stay, she was so accommodating about everything--time to meet, when to get the key. I felt so much better about the pups staying at home instead of being boarded.
When we got home, Stewart had left the house cleaner than when she got there. My husband even asked if the housekeeper had come. She really went above and beyond--sent us pictures (to prove our dogs didn't even miss us ;) and washed the sheets of the guest bed. Our dogs were so much better about staying in our home. Other times when they return from boarding, there is some stress or pouting that takes time to wear off. Certainly not the case this time! I won't hesitate to have Stewart as a sitter again.
