Hi! My name is Caroline! I'm a lifelong dog owner (and a huge Red Sox Fan!) Been a Dog Vacay host since early 2013. My permanent household dogs are two mixed breed rescued fur babies (Her Royal Highness Kate & her fursister Pippa.) I love to take in local doggies part time for vacation coverage or daycare. Occasionally I also am a foster parent for local Animal Rescue.
We do 6 walks on the leash a day around the neighborhood and trails to compensate for my small unfenced yard. The Greenbrook Adventure Park and miles of paved walkways and shell-lined paths are a very short walk from the front door. We frequent the 4 acre fenced neighborhood Lakewood Ranch Paw Park mornings or evenings of your dog's stay (weather and interest permitting as long as you are already a Paw Park Member with a current key) to have a romping good time.
Otherwise we take full advantage of exercise on acres and acres of beautiful open space in the spacious fields and through miles of interconnected wide wooded trails. The preserve areas allow the pups to enjoy fresh air time outside on extended leash. We can do this as much (or as little) as the dogs like.
Our 2073 sq ft home is separated into various areas by SIX dog gates with plenty of room in each area to play, be silly, or lounge around. There is ample space for snoozing and napping on cozy sofas and dog beds. Our pool is also available for swimming. One of our regular guests (a much beloved chocolate Lab named Cocoa) spends hours of her stay each time swimming and LOVES it.
Popular with my many neighbors here in Greenbrook Village for years. Now looking to expand just slightly. My girls love having guests. We have quite a variety of regulars and semi regulars in our rotation and room to make a few more friends. My girls (HRH Kate & Pippa) and I all really like hosting other dogs. Old and young. Big or small. From Boxers to Bichons, Chihuahuas to Cockers, Shih Tzus to Spaniels and Goldens to Greyhounds. Had Puggles, Schnauzers, Yorkies, Collies. Mutts and Purebreds. We love them equally. ALL have a blast here.
I LOVE to take photos and videos to chronicle your dog's day. Those are sent to you via text or email, as often as you like, so you stay connected. Take a look at my extensive photo gallery to see many samples.
We live a very casual life. None of the furniture is off limits to the doggies. So lounging on my lap, the beds, chairs or sofas is totally welcomed. I sleep with my girls every night in my King-sized (dog sized!) bed. The guest dogs sleep with us too as long as they are interested in that. Otherwise I happily provide them a bed on the floor next to us or a room of their own at bedtime. Whatever makes them happy, we will accommodate. Whatever your routine is, we will follow it. Treats, toys and meals are a mirror of your usual schedule and rules from home.
I ALWAYS limit the number of guests here to no more than four (usually only one or two) at a time. If you want your dog to be the only guest that is an option we can discuss. I do this because it provides the guests a real opportunity for plenty of one on one affection and attention from me. It also keeps everyone's stress levels low.
I am able to provide comfort to dogs who have separation anxiety or hate loud noises like thunder and fireworks. Holidays are often a time when families travel. Know your fur baby is in great loving hands while you vacation or are at work for long shifts.
I am well versed in handling all ages of dogs. Have a special soft spot for the Senior dogs. Very comfortable administering medication and injections if needed.
All the dogs are fed separately to prevent any issues. I firmly believe in being proactive across the board to create harmony.
I have plenty of clients who would happily talk to you about any of that. Most of my regulars have been here at different times with almost all the others. We provide a stress free setting . They are a friendly, loving and silly bunch.
I'm currently semi-retired and work from home with an online business . That affords me the advantage of being here almost all day and evening most of the time. My family, and houseguests who often visit, love the dogs too so they get plenty of extra individual snuggles, playtime, socialization and cuddles from the entire household.
All we expect is that the dog guests get along well with others, are spayed or neutered, on flea control maintenance, aren't bossy Alpha's, are up to date on all vaccines and are thoroughly housebroken. Please. And if you are a Red Sox fan?... Pretty sure we will all be lifelong paw pals. ;)
I do this as a part time gig both for extra income and a genuine love for pooches. Can't wait to meet you and your canine companion(s) to see how this could work well for all of us. Woofs & Wags!!!
Please just propose a Meet & Greet as a first step before I accept any booking. That is my policy to ensure it is a fit for everyone. So let's get introduced!!!
