About Reiko

Two dogs in my life crossed Rainbow Bridge some time ago: Tanty, a 19-year old Yorkie, and Ike, a 14-year old Aussie rescue. Taking care of them through all life's phases was challenging yet educational, and worth every moment! I now have two horses (off-site) and recently adopted another young dog, Angus. In Reston, we have a fenced and wooded back yard as well as a nice neighborhood for dog walks with critter temptations around the lake. Large open home with windows and creature comforts. Medical grade elevator for senior dogs who should not climb or descend stairs without assistance. One on one TLC will be provided as per owner's and dogs request(s)! Experience with older dogs who need rehab exercises and/or special care versus a simple walk down the road. I'm a strong proponent of inclines and outdoor exploration :).
* One client only - this ensures your pup gets our full attention
* Flexible drop-off/pick up times
* Dog park visits, dog play dates as appropriate
* Lots of one-on-one time as I do not work 9-5 weekdays or weekends
* Ample floor time to include hugs, rubs, wrestling, massage, comfort as needed!
* Your dog(s) can take their favorite toy home and keep it or trade it for another when he/she comes to stay again ;)
* Proceeds support horse and dog rescue.

I felt wonderful about leaving Jazzy, my 12.5 year old golden, with Reiko. She is so kind and thoughtful, sent me photos every day, worried about her scratching, recommended vets (we are new to the area). What a great experience for Jazzy and for me! I am delighted and return again.

I loved Reiko, and so did my dogs. She is very caring and knowledgeable about animals. She is also very personable to work with. I will definitely be boarding my boys with her in the future and can highly recommend her to care for your dog.
I have an elderly Shepard-mix that is 15 years old. I chose Reiko because of her experience caring for elderly dogs and I am so happy I did. Reiko cared for my girl as if she was her own. I would highly recommend her for anyone who needs someone to watch over their pet. Price was higher than most, but in this case, given my concern over watching a 'special needs' animal, it was worth every penny! Thanks Reiko (and Dog Vacay)!

It was our first time being away from our dog, but Reiko took excellent care of him and treated him like family. She sent me photos and updates and I felt very much at ease knowing he was in good hands. I would definitely have Bauer stay with her again and I highly recommend her. Thanks!
