Need a normal and trustworthy dog-lover? I'm Ben. I'm your guy. About me... I'm a Santa Monica-based writer with an MFA from NYU who's looking to put a bigger dent in some student loans while I make inroads into the film and TV world. Besides that, I'm smart, pleasant, and responsible--the type of person who always gets asked to watch friends and neighbors' dogs when friends and neighbors head out of town. As far as experience goes, I've been around dogs my entire life and worked professionally as a boarder, sitter, and walker for several years in Hawaii, New York, and northern California. I also spent half a decade offering behavioral support for children diagnosed with developmental disabilities. Long story short, I'm super well-versed in applied behavioral analysis, positive reinforcement, and understanding non-verbal communication--all excellent skills that pay huge dividends when working with dogs. We reached out to Ben to sit for our dog, Batman, at our home because he is newly adopted and has some anxiety with new people and places. Ben was absolutely incredible. He took the time to meet Batman and get to know him before the reservation started. He also made it a point to educate himself with the training we've been working on so he could continue while we were away. We were a bit nervous to leave Batman, but as it turns out, we had no need to be: Batman absolutely LOVED Ben and felt completely comfortable and content having him in our home. We were so grateful and relieved with how responsible Ben was and how communicative he was while we were away. We received constant updates and a full report when we returned. We are already looking at our calendars to try and book with Ben again!

We've had nothing but good experiences with Ben. Our Golden has stayed two times with Ben and she always comes back happy. He sent daily pics to let us know how the dog was doing. Overall a great experience! Highly recommended!
Where do I begin? Ben is an excellent sitter! My George can be shy and retiring when I have to leave him with a new sitter, however, that was not the case this time. Ben and his wife are kind and patient (definitely a plus when dog sitting). They welcomed my dog in to their home as though he was their own. Once George was settled into his new surroundings, he was quite comfortable--I know this from the nice pics Ben was so kind to text to me. My doggy clearly had plenty of care, feeding, walks and lap time (he loved that). According to my brother who picked him up, George did not want to leave. If you are looking for a nice "homey" environment, Ben is a good choice. I will definitely be using him again.
