Hi! My name is Erica. I am a dog-lover who has had dogs for most of my life. I am currently working from home, and I would love to have a dog there to keep me company! The only reason I do not have a dog now is in order to have long-term work flexibility.
Growing up, I had a dachshund, who was feisty and protective over food. Since then, I have trained and raised two Maltese puppies, Jodi and Lola. In my totally-biased opinion, Maltese are one of the sweetest, most playful breeds of lap dogs. Although they are technically my parents' dogs now, I lived close for several years, and I still consider them my own. When my parents went on vacation, I always watched them, either at their house or at my apartment. I also have experience with older and post-surgical dogs because the oldest, Jodi, had two ACL surgeries at the ages of 14 and 15. I obviously also cared for both dogs after they were spayed.
From watching them at my apartment, I am accustomed to taking the dog(s) out 4-5 times a day to go the the bathroom. I can also provide 1 walk per day and would be happy to provide pictures throughout the day.
I am in a 4th floor walk-up on the Upper East Side. It has wood floors and is sparsely decorated, so the dog(s) can walk around anywhere and there is space for potty pads and any dog crate/bed that would make his or her stay more comfortable.
