I would love to sit and care for your dog in your home - or walk them! It's up to your needs.
Growing up with three dogs (two Airedales and an Irish terrier) with three different temperaments taught me what I know about caring for dogs and making them happy. Here in the city, I sit for my boyfriend's sister's King Charles Cavalier when I can. I love dogs, and my motto is: my time around them is spent doing what makes the dog happy - not me!
That's not to say I necessarily spoil them - aggression issues need to be curbed firmly, a lesson I learned with my dearly departed - and highly spirited - Irish terrier Mike.
I have experience caring from everyone from puppies to elderly (and in one case, blind) dogs. I can administer pills, ear and eye drops. If you require more complicated medical care, I'm a quick learner.
A dog's day with me? WALKS, of course. Since a dog "sees" with its nose, I like to let dogs linger on their walks a bit so they can sniff everything they want. TOYS! Not just catch, I love to invent all sorts of new games. (But do tell me if you dog has a favorite - tug-o-war, for example). PETTING and all sorts of tactile affection - I'm good at "reading" a dog and discerning what they like. REST and naps are important, especially if they get too wound up on their walks. And can't forget MEALS - let me know about their food schedule or special ways to prepare the chow.
I'm able to sit and stay overnight for pets at your home - mine simply isn't pet-sized!
I don't own dogs in the city, but I do share one with my mother back in the midwest, and I promise you that I will absolutely treat your dog (or other pet) as if it is my own.
