About Emma

10 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hi Vancouver dog-lovers,
my partner and I care with great love for our senior dog Winston and youngster Peanut from Portland. We all enjoy having other dogs over and sharing our couch, treats and love and go on long walks together.

Winston has arthritis and gets medication everyday and I learned to listen to his special needs and abilities. Winston is a friendly and calm dog and gets along with most other dogs. He can't be off leash because of his hunting instinct and likes to eat anything interesting on the street, so I am used to being cautious and attentive while walking. Peanut is a gentle soul and generally very easy going, He likes to play with other dogs a lot. I like going for strolls and letting them and DogVacay dogs play with other dogs at the dog park. If your dog can/wants we go hiking every now and then. Winston is not a great fetcher but I'd love to tire out your dog that way. Just let me know what your dog loves and I can adjust happily.

I am a 22-year old UBC student and I love caring for dogs ever since I was 8 years old. I have watched family and friend's dogs since with great passion. At the age of 12 I was ready for my first own dog, Jeff (a sheltie). We went to dog training together and I learned how to read dog's body language, how to use their love for treats and much more. I continued watching other dogs and Jeff became father of five puppies. Most of the time there were about 3-4 dogs in the house.

Emma took great care of our dog!
Really really great experience with Emma. Our dog stayed for 11 nights and he felt immediately at home. Emma was a wonderful vacation-parent, we could see how close Micky was to her when we picked him up. It is priceless being in your holiday without worrying. Next time for sure again.. !! :-) Tanja & Eileen

Emma was great with my dog. She was really good with keeping me updated via email during my trip and was able to make my dog as comfortable as possible in a strange place. She sent pictures of them going on walks and hikes and was able to comfort and cuddle my dog like he is used to at home.

Emma and Joey provided a good home for my spaniel, despite the fact that my dog has never stayed with strangers in her 11 years. A nervous mutt, Lucy calmed down and got used to her new caretakers and their two dogs. I'm glad to hear that as Lucy doesn't socialize much any more with other dogs. So I think we'd be happy to come back one of these days.

My big puppy Bailey and I are very impressed with Emma. It was Bailey's first time boarding and Emma ensured that Bailey was very comfortable in the new environment. Emma has updated me with their daily activities and sent pictures which I extremely appreciated. I had no doubt that my Bailey would be in good hands due to Emma's genuine and caring personality. I would definitely come back to her and recommend her to anyone who are looking for peace of mind knowing their 4-legged family member will be in good hands.

Despite his anxious personality, Peanut was completely at ease with Emma right away! She was great about keeping me posted about the vacate regularly, always including a few photos with each update. I am so grateful to Emma and her husband for taking such good care of Peanut! They treated him like he was their own, and I know he thoroughly enjoyed his time!

Emma provided the best care for my two dogs while my husband and I were away. When we first met, her easy going nature and kindness put me completely at ease and my dogs loved her from the start. I had complete confidence and trust that Emma would look after my dogs like they were her own and she updated me at least twice a day, with pictures and comments - very helpful and comforting to someone like me who worries too much about my pets. I can't thank her enough for all of her attention and care for my dogs!
