Hi there! My name is Emily and I'm a recent New Yorker who's set on exploring the city to the best of my ability.
I have grown up with animals since I was born. There wasn't a time in my life when my household didn't have a dog romping around, except this past year when both my dogs passed away within months of each other (one was 16 years old, and the other had a liver condition). It was an extremely heartbreaking time for my family and I, because as you can imagine, a dog becomes embedded in your home and day-to-day life. Since then, we've adopted a cat from a rescue, but it really isn't the same as having that happy-go-lucky goofy dog looking up at you everyday when you get back from work. My home is great for pets because it's spacious, air-conditioned and heated, and because I live with other girls who absolutely adore animals and would provide a warm, loving, environment. I'm right near two parks, one of them being McCarren park, which is quite large, so I would be able to take the dog(s) out for extensive walks and playtime. I would take my old dogs to the park for over an hour to chase the ball and and meet other pets, as well as take them to the lake to swim. Overall, I'm committed to making sure the dog is being kept active, is being fed and walked regularly, and is generally content.
A typical day for me starts at 8:00am when I get ready for work, and ends later in the evening. However, there's always at least one person at home to take care of a guest's pet on the weekday. To make things easier, I would prefer to take in animals over the weekends, so I could dedicate more time to their care.
Please let me know if you would like to discuss on the phone or meet in person! Thank you in advance, and hope to talk soon!
