About Emery

I love caring for animals, and consider myself very well versed in dog and cat behaviors. I've cared for two cats all my life, and one snake for about two years. Currently, I don't have the time to own a dog full time, but would absolutely love to eventually, and working for DogVacay would be a great start in experiencing caring for dogs.
I'm 18 years old and currently on a gap year between high school and college, and I have a lot of free time. I live with my twin sister Claire, mother Patty, and father Ed. I promise to care for your animals and your homes, and follow any special instructions required.

ABOUT BOARDING, PLEASE READ: my cats tend to dislike canine company, it just stresses them out, however if your dog is of the low energy or quiet type, I may accept boarding reservations at my house.
What your dog can expect in boarding at my house:
- A lot of hanging out doing mostly nothing (great for lazy dogs)
- Most of that time will be spent in my basement as that is where my room is. It's large enough for multiple big dogs to be comfortable, and gets a lot of natural light. You can always check it out yourself during a Meet & Greet if you're not sure.
- Dogs, of course, will have access to the backyard whenever they want it and will get daily walks/trips to the park depending on what your dog needs. Long walks with lots of park time? No problem. I just want to make it clear that a dog must be comfortable in a low energy environment and stay fairly quiet in terms of barking to be happy in my house.
Even if you're not sure if I'm a good fit for your dogs, go ahead and shoot me a reservation request anyway, I welcome everyone.

Hi Dog Vacay,
I am delighted to write a testimonial for Emery. First and foremost, Emery loves dogs and cats, he has a sensitivity, deeper than language, that these social mammals seem to be attracted to. Beyond that, Emery is a responsible, dependable young man, fully capable of collaborating with humans, for the betterment of their beloved pets. I think he will be a great addition to your gang.
Sincerely,
Ed Schwartz MA LMFTA

Emery did a great job caring for our elderly Great Dane for over a week. Providing medicine and supplements wasn't an issue. Emery is definitely a dog person and I wouldn't hesitate to book with him again!
Emery did a great job watching our pups. He was very communicative, laid back, and flexible. He didn't seem worried about some special concerns I had expressed with regards to our dogs being a little overly naughty sometimes, and took it in stride. He seemed confident that it wouldn't be an issue, and proved this was true. I wouldn't hesitate to take our dogs back and am happy with the experience.
