I am a Hill Employee and resident who has a dog that gets all of my attention. He and I are like a team, and I am even lucky enough to have him come to work with me sometimes, which is great on so many levels. My dog, Beacon, is a 5 and a half year old collie/beagle mix. I was doing a site visit at the Humane Society and I saw him... He was a cute, little 4 month old who just stole my heart. He was mine that day! I have grown up with dogs, and can't imagine a life without one.
I have a medium size apartment with outdoor areas that I can take your family member around. My dog has free reign of my place, but also has a crate that he likes to retreat to once in a while (thunderstorms are really scary). Your guy or girl can come with her crate, or if you want them to have free range, to, I will follow your instructions. Same goes for walking, feeding, and play.
I live in a metro accessible apartment and spend most weekends in or around my neighborhood. Because my guy, Beacon, loves other dogs I figure this is a great opportunity for him and me. I live just a few blocks from Kingman Dog Park and Lincoln Park. I often take my guy to the nearby field to let him run around in the morning before baseball or school starts. Sometimes we hop into my car and head out to Shirlington dog park and stop by the pet supply store after for a treat, it just depends on the weekend.
I love my guy and worry about him when I am away, so understand you fears. I will send you regular updates and respond back to you within an hour of any call.
If you'd like for me to house sit at your home, as long as I can bring my guy, I am game.
