We are a married couple in the bay area! I am a PhD scientist in Biology and also train dogs in my spare time. My wife is a finance person and we both LOVE dogs and Cats. We have a wonderful, very well behaved, and very well trained 5 year old dog. He loves other dogs and is also a wonderful host. We are in a community of town-houses with a big park where your dog can go for long walks or play/run around. I also can train your dog or help you with behavior problems that your canine friend may have! You can come check out our dog (his name is Chipps) to see what kind of training is possible! We have been taking care of dogs for over 4 years (see our pics of guests that have stayed!) and love to have a furry friend with us!

Reasons to choose us:
-Huge play yard (fenced and completely safe!).
-24 hr supervision! No alone time for your pooch!
-We have been taking care of dogs for 10 years! (see the pictures!)
-We walk our dog daily for at least an hour (usually 2 hours!)
-We are surrounded by greenery, and therefore always play fetch and/or other games with our dogs (they also have a play yard of their own if they can play friendly with each other!) and
-We are on a large, secure property! Your pooch will be in vacation mode here!
-We can train dogs and work with them to teach new tricks or modify any behavioral issues!

Neil is such a fantastic host. We left our dog with him over a weekend. He was so great with regular updates and photographs. What's more, he treated our dog as if she was his own; she refused to eat dinner the first night she was out there, for some reason, and Neil brought her into the family bedroom that night so they could keep an eye on her. She returned home happy and in good spirits. We would leave our dog with him again in a heartbeat. Thanks Neil!
Neil and his family were wonderful to Cole while we were away! After many meet and greets with other Dogvacay hosts, we chose Neil based on how similar his family was to ours. Cole is a high energy dog who needs both mental stimulation and lots of exercise. After our meet and greet with Neil and Chipps, we knew Cole would feel right at home here. We were impressed with Neil's confidence in handling Cole and also how well Cole and Chipps got along after their introduction.

Since both dogs loved playing fetch, we knew Chipps would match Cole's energy. We enjoyed getting text updates and pictures of Cole daily and what he was up to for the day, either a long walk with Chipps, playing fetch or frisbee, or getting an antler from Neil's daughter!

When I went to pick Cole up, I was impressed that Neil worked with him to learn some new tricks! He was very obedient and listened attentively to Neil's command. Neil gave some great insight about Cole and also some pointers on how to handle him in training. Overall, we were very happy with Cole's vacation with Neil and his family and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a second family for their dog!
Neil and his family have been wonderful hosts to my labradoodle, Jimmy. I was nervous about leaving my baby anywhere, and Neil understood that. He made sure he (and Chipps,) spent enough time getting acquainted with Jimmy and communicated with me everyday. He not only sent pictures but also was patient when I had many questions about Jimmy while I was away. Jimmy is used to plenty of exercise and human interaction, and Neil made sure to play with Jimmy and walk him everyday. I enjoyed my break knowing that my baby was in good hands and well taken care of. I will definitely bring Jimmy back here again.
Harley has stayed with Neil several times now, and always comes home a happy pup! Neil and his wife do a good job of getting to know each dog and catering to their needs and personalities. Their new home is great and really set up for play time fun. I'm sure there are endless games of fetch, and Chips always welcomes Harley into his home :) We are looking forward to daycare!
Pinot and Cab loved their time with Neil and his family. When I picked them up, they we're calm and playing with Chipps. Quite different from the slightly nervous and spirited pups I left the day before! Chipps is the sweetest dog - and testament to how great Neil is with animals. Neil is my sitter of choice from now on!
Buddy had a great time at Neil's house with his family and Chips. Chips is very well behaved and always happy. This assured us that Neil is a great dog parent himself. Buddy came back very happy from his stay and we're looking forward to Buddy's next stay with Neil and Chips.
Neil and his family (including Chipps!) were so absolutely wonderful! From our first Meet-and-Greet to the pick-up after a full day of fun, our 7-month shepherd mix Lucy seemed to love hanging out with Neil and Co.

We signed up for daycare and received photos from a very responsive Neil, which eased our nerves as this was the first time we've been this far away from our pup.

Neil talked about his training process with Chipps (who is fantastically well-trained, btw) and we were all ears since we're new puppy parents ourselves! Neil was so great and genuinely excited to have Lucy stay with them for the day. We will definitely be back!
From the first meet and greet, I knew Neil and his wife are genuine dog lovers and would be amazing hosts. Their dog Chipps is fantastic -- playful, athletic, and very well mannered. He clearly has been diligently trained by Neil and consistently well socialized with all sorts of dogs and people. Neil sent picture and text updates on Bridger every day (often twice a day) on walks and jogs, playing in the living room, and napping on the couch. When I picked him up, Bridger was very happy and healthy, and just the right amount of tuckered out from all the fun fun. Thrilled to have found him such a wonderful home away from home. Bridger will be back!
Neil and his wife were great. Toby went on big long walks with him and their dog Chipps, got plenty of play time, and I loved getting the status updates about Toby's day. They're extremely reasonable and I really appreciated how honest and forthcoming with the types of dogs they like to host, vs. the types of dogs they don't want to. It made it super easy to see that my dog would be a great fit for what they were looking for, and to that end, they would be a great fit for him! When I came to pick Toby up he was happy as a clam and I was shocked to ring their doorbell and NOT have him bolt to the door bellowing big barks! I will definitely be going to them in the future, they're really lovely, honest and care about providing a great time for great dogs!
Neil & his wife are very sweet and so did their dog Chipps. Neil take a good care of my puppy and I know she is happy while she is there. Neil responsed to my msg. quickly & with pics. of my puppy's status. He also gave us lots of suggestion how to train the new puppy. Both my husband & myself are happy to picked Neil to dog sit our puppy for our go away weekend. Would like to say "Thank you" for Neil & his family.
This was our first time using Dogvacay. After seeing how our little guy Milo got along so well with Chipps during the intro, it helped us feel more comfortable leaving him with Neil and his wife cause we knew they'd have fun together. Neil was very responsive with all our correspondences. He asked a lot of questions to make sure he had our dog's routine on track along with any concerns that he should be aware of. And while we were gone, he sent us an update everyday about how and what Milo was doing along with a picture. It was great to know he was having as good a time as we were. He played so well and so much with Chipps that when we did get him home, he probably spent the better part of a few days just sleeping!! We'd definitely bring our dog back to Neil again.
We boarded Chloe, our Giant Schnauzer, with Neil for one night. Neil was everything we'd hoped for in a dog-sitter. He and his wife and dog were comfortable with Chloe, who can be very headstrong and independent. Neil updated us with a photo and text message, and even called, the first day when we didn't respond at first. Neil was flexible, professional and polite, working hard to reassure us that Chloe was in good hands.
Our dog Tigger had never ever stayed overnight with anybody since we got him over 4 years. We decided to place him with Neil for a weekend while we were away on business.

You could not find a nicer, kinder couple to leave your pet with. They took care of Tigger like their own dog.
They followed special instructions for Tigger's diet and his habits. Tigger felt at home with them within minutes of being in their home. Tigger was taken for walks and Neil went the extra mile by sending me Tigger's picture each day with a short text update.

Neil and his wife shall be our care takers of choice for Tigger whenever we have to leave town. I would strongly recommend them for all your of your pet's boarding and lodging needs. You won't find anyone better to take care of and love your pets.

Thank you both for watching and caring for our Tigger.
Neil and his wife were fantastic hosts to our 2 pooches. They were very responsive and went out of the way to accommodate our schedule. They took the dogs to the park, for long walks and also for a picnic :-) Neil is a also very good at training dogs; his dog Chipps is a great pup who would get along with almost anyone. I would highly recommend leaving your baby with this couple while you are away!
