About Kendra

21 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I would be a dog hoarder if I could :) however, anymore and my husband might disown me. I have raised and trained dogs for over 15 years, rescued over 40 and currently have 3!! Ashoka is very large malamute mix, VERY submissive and LOVES to play. Additionally, we have two small chihuahua's named Stella and Wolfgang who are extremely lazy and prefer to snuggle all day (who doesn't?). I am a life coach/nutritionist, mainly turned - stay at home mom, with a huge heart, good sense of humor, clear understanding of animal behavior, with a securely fenced yard. I am equipped to deal with certain special needs dogs (medication, separation anxiety etc.) Your dog will be showered with love and treats (if given permission) as well as ocean front walks. Your dog can sleep with us or in their favorite crate as we will cater to meet your dogs needs, as we want someone to do the same for ours! I stay in touch with the owners via text and like to send pictures and updates, so you can rest assured on your travels! Child friendly dogs only please!

Why I love dog sitting
I came out of the womb loving dogs! I rescued my first dog when I was 16 and living on my own. His name was Obi, he was a lab mix that had been severely abused. He was my best friend and taught me an infinite amount about unconditional love and healing- I lost him to cancer after ten years. When I was 18 I got a husky mix pup named Anoki, he was my everything for 14 years- he was an alpha male and nothing but trouble. Handsome trouble. I lost him after 14 amazing years. Additionally, I rescued a shepherd mix named Sokaia that became my right hand girl. She was the most docile, well trained dog, but unfortunately was severely epileptic. She required 4 meds a day for 5 years straight. Eventually she needed to be put down as well. I have rescued close to 40 dogs over the past 15 years in addition to the three I mentioned that I did not place, but were my pack.

Meet my pets
Ashoka, a malmute mix 1.5 year old male dog. 120 lbs and LOOOVES to play.
Stella a 5lb chihuahua who demands nothing but love and affection.
Wolfgang a 5lb 2 year old male chihuahua. He is a scrapper and quite a bit of trouble for 5 lbs!

About my yard
Fenced back yard with a 6ft cedar stockade. It is not an enormous yard, but there is enough room to run, romp and have fun. There are shady and sunny spots along with access to a wooden deck.

What Kendra would like to know about your dog

My wife and I feel very comfortable leaving our 6 month old pup with Kendra. Great atmosphere for our dog and the animals are friendly and playful. Totally recommend Kendra!
Kendra was great at communication and provided many pictures so we knew our pups were being watched carefully. Our pups did not adjust well to the new environment and to the three other dogs in the home - being immature and young still. Kendra did her best to take things in stride but sharing the frustration with us while away only caused concern and loss of sleep knowing we were negatively impacting her family. The experience provided us with additional insight and training opportunities for our puppies and we will work hard to make them the best pups they can be in all situations.
Kendra was very good. I highly recommend her to anyone!!! My dog is a very energetic husky puppy. She not only handled her well for the entire weekend but she also helped train her by teaching good habits. I felt very safe leaving my dog in Kendra's home. She has a very secure yard and she is able to control many dogs. Thank you Kendra!!!
Kendra, her husband and son - and their pack, made us feel so comfortable leaving our dog in their care. We knew that our little man was in professional care, that his dietary needs would be met, and he would get attention, love and proper training/discipline. With puppies, it's critical that commands and training are consistent and we loved knowing that our golden would be loved, but wouldn't be allowed to run wild. Kendra started teaching our dog "no bark" which we really appreciated, it was easy for us to pick up where she started, once we got home.

Kendra always has a few dogs at her house and they are all SO sweet, not a mean bone in the bunch. We knew our puppy would have a lot of fun playing with these great doggies.
Kendra was wonderfully accommodating with our last minute reservation. She made sure she knew what she needed to know about Bailey and we were very comfortable leaving him in her care. I believe he had a great "dogvacay"!
I would give her six stars if I could! Smokey came home happy and exhausted. The minute we met Kendra and her family we were completely at ease.
Kendra was wonderful! She took our pug in last minute for a long weekend. Our Bruce is a loveable yet very attention needy pug and he got all the snuggles and love he wanted plus more. He came home happy and calm and we couldn't have been happier with our experience with Kendra. 5 star experience!
Kendra and family treated Max like he was the star. Very nurturing and friendly atmosphere. VERY knowledgeable host who asked insightful and pertinent questions to integrate Max into their home. Wonderful pictures and updates. Max has found his Connecticut vacation home.
Kendra was awesome! She sent pictures almost every day, and I could relax knowing that Keeva was in good hands. I like the fact that her back yard is completely enclosed with a 6 foot tall fence, so that I did not have to worry about Keeva getting loose. My dog really enjoyed her time there and got lots of affection and attention.
I finally found someone who I totally trust to take care of my 1½ year old golden retriever, Carli. My husband and I left Carli with Kendra and her husband Shaun for a week at the end of April and they were beyond fantastic. Kendra sent me text updates and pictures every day showing me what Carli was up to. Carli even met her twin, a golden retriever named Indy who Kendra takes care of a couple times a week. They look so much alike I had a hard time telling them apart in pictures. This is the first time we have left Carli with anyone but family for an extended period of time so having that daily contact and knowing she was in great hands and having fun really let us relax and enjoy our vacation. Thank you SO MUCH and we will most definitely be back!
