My husband and I are a young couple with 1 dog. We have a 9 year old Shih Tzu. Our dog is pretty laid back and sleeps the majority of the day. He will play with a frisbee or tug for a toy with another dog, but for the most part he ignores other dogs after an initial greeting. He has a HUGE toy box and is willing to share. We love to watch and cuddle with other calm and house trained dogs that get along with ours, and have done so for many friends and family. We can watch two small dogs, or one large dog. This allows us to provide the attention they deserve and ensure everyone gets lap time. We request a meeting with our dog outside of our home (normally a nearby park) to make sure everyone gets along and the dogs are comfortable with each other. I also recommend that you bring something that smells like home to make your dog comfortable like a blanket, toy, or a piece of your clothing that has been worn. We are not strangers to giving a dog pills, so that is not a problem if you don't mind your dog having a little piece of cheese or peanut butter with it. My mother is currently staying with us so she is home with the dogs all day when I or my husband are at work. Most dogs love to sleep on the bed with us, but if they are not allowed on your furniture, they can sleep on a dog bed in our room or can be crated in a separate room at night. I love to take photos, so I can send you pictures and updates of your furbaby. My general rule of thumb is at least 1-2 photos per day. I post most photos in the dogface app, but I may text some too you as well. If you are going out of the country and unable to receive texts, please let me know and I can email you updates or communicate through dogvacay messages. I also make and sell dog collars and bandanas on Etsy, and with your permission, could possibly use your dog as a model. If your dog stays with us, plan on them being spoiled rotten!
We have recently moved to West Columbia. Our yard is 3/4 fenced right now, so we go on walks around the block and around the backyard on leash for potty time. We have dog beds in our bedroom, my mothers bedroom, and the living room. We have a small crate that fits a dog up to 20-30lb if needed.
We have had a great deal of experience with elderly dogs, and are proficient in giving medications and shots.
Home Visits for CATS or REPTILES will be done by my mother. If you are interested in this, we can set up a meet and greet.
