I'm very fortunate to have a home office which allows me to optimize my time with my incredibly smart & handsome dog, Niko. His a family friendly and well trained white German Shepherd who recently turned 1 years old and is nearly 100 lbs.
We begin each day with a 45-60 minute walk/hike in the hills of Mount Washington. Then in the afternoon we usually schedule a 30 minute walk or play/training session and then round out the day with an evening walk/hike in the 45-60 minute range.
When we're not active, Niko has tons of room to play with his toys or sleep in my office, the rest of the home or outside which is completely fenced in and includes a dog run.
Niko's well being and safety our my greatest concern. And when I am responsible for someone else's canine I treat them as if there were my very own.
Prior to Niko I had a wonderful chocolate lab, Brody, who lived to be 12.5 years old and was truly my best friend. He too was smart and at 6 months mastered opening the refrigerator and bringing me a beer/soda. True story, and please feel free to view the video I created for him which includes this awesome trick (Vimeo Search "Brody Connell - Tribute").
