Our home is in a lovely neighborhood with a walking trail winding throughout the entire area. My home is on a cul de sac with a pie shaped lot making the back yard quite large. If I stand in one end of the yard I can throw the ball full strength and not hit the opposite fence. We keep the yard clean and maintained so the doggy fun is safe and sanitary. I also have a nice deck where older dogs love to sun themselves on fine days.
Dog sitting is my full time job and thus I am with your baby 24/7. When I do have to go out to run errands and such I coordinate with my husband to be sure the dogs are not left unattended.
All dogs sleep in my bedroom each night so that the whole pack is together and feels secure. They can sleep either loose on their blankets from home, or in owner provided kennels. I of course have extra dog beds in my room for anyone to crash on. I keep a store of Milk Bones and chew sticks on hand to reward good behavior and make sure dogs have something to keep them busy. Of course there is a large basket of dog toys for everyone to share.
I also like to text pictures of your baby to you while you are away, thus you know he's doing well and having a good time at my place.
I have been dog sitting since I was 13. Most girls that age started babysitting but I quickly decided that was not for me. I started out just dog sitting for a few of my parents friends, then a neighbor or two, soon it expanded through the neighborhood by word of mouth until when I finally got a car at 17 (paid for with dog sitting money) I was the go to dog sitter for much of my high school. I've moved several times since then and in each new place I built up a list of clients only to start again when I moved to the next place. Here in Troutdale I finally have a house that is perfectly suited to watching dogs and so I have gone full time with my dog sitting business.
You can trust me with your baby because I treat them like they are my babies. Without human children of my own all of my maternal instinct and love is poured into the canines that come to visit me. It's wonderful to finally have a job that I can look forward to each day!
