About Mirna

20 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hello and thank you for checking out Doggie Port "A Place for Your Doggies Layover". My husband and I have cared for dogs for over 20 years. We do not have any children of our own. However, our pups are our kids. We treat them as part of the family. Together we have raised three Siberian huskies and most recent, our two Maltipoo's. We both grew up with dogs and are lifetime dog lovers. We know how important your doggies are to you too. Therefore, if you were to leave your pup(s) in our care, we would treat them as part of our family as well.

We offer In-Home cage free Boarding and Doggie Daycare in our comfy and pet loving home, Pet Sitting and visits at your home, Walks in the Park, we offer Pick up and Drop off service (free of charge within 10 mile radius of zip code 94580). We also offer curb side service for your doggie to Travelers leaving out of Oakland Airport or SF Airport for pick up and drop off.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at all. I look forward to meeting you and your pup(s).

**Please note that there has been a change in our availability, and we are currently ONLY AVAILABLE ON WEEKENDS AND SOME HOLIDAYS.** Please contact me for availability. Some exceptions can apply.

We were unexpectedly called out of town shortly after Mirna completed her previous 2-week engagement for home visits, so we engaged her again for the 3 days we were gone. Luna is a senior dog who doesn't relate well to other dogs or adjust easily to strange situations, so we opted to leave Luna at home and have Mirna come to our house for home visits rather than taking Luna to stay at Mirna's house. Luna was home alone overnight for 2 nights.

Mirna again made 2 home visits per day, but since Luna was home alone overnight, Mirna came earlier in the morning and later in the afternoon than before. Luna was just fine when we came home, and again, well cared for and content. And Mirna even gave Luna another bath! Mirna rocks!

This was my first time using DogVacay, and the first time I have hired a sitter for our Maltese Luna. Finding a sitter that fit my requirements was quite easy on DogVacay, and Mirna turned out to be a wonderful sitter. I did not hesitate to engage her again when we had to go out of town unexpectedly. Our dog Luna was home alone for 12-14 hours a day for 2 weeks. I hired Mirna to make 2 home visits per day to take Luna out for a walk, feed her and play with her. After an initial meet and greet, Mirna came every day as agreed, sent pictures of her visits, and even offered to give Luna a bath! Luna was extremely well cared for in my absence. Thank you Mirna!

Mirna is one of the best sitters ever! but, the outdoor play area is rather small, and our dog loves to run!
As always Mirna took great care of my pup, Cooper! This stay Cooper came with a couple of medications and Mirna was very generous in her willingness to administer them to help Cooper heal! I feel so blessed to know he's in such good care whenever I am away!

Mirna came his past weekend and walked our Beagle. He came home after his hour long walk refreshed and ready to spend the day home alone. The best part was that his mischievousness was tamed. Thanks Mirna!
From the time of our meet and greet, I knew Mirna would be the perfect sitter for our almost 16 year old Westie Jody. Although Jody is in good health, both her hearing and eyesight are diminished by age, so I was worried about her being anywhere besides her home. Mirna put us at ease right away. After we hung out with her for awhile she brought her own 2 dogs out to meet us and Jody. The 3 dogs got along well. Mirna also told us Jody would be her only extra dog during her stay, a policy she has for first-timers. Jody did so well. Mirna sent us email updates and photos while we were away and we could see Jody was being well cared for. Mirna is a very sweet, competent care giver and we will definitely choose her again. Joan

Mirna and Raul were wonderful, warm, and friendly. We were very confident leaving our two Poms in their care. Mirna took extra care with the special needs of one of our boys. She sent photos by text message of our dogs mixing with hers.
Mirna was a great host. She communicated clearly and promptly, and she clearly loves dogs. She has a secure yard so the dogs have an outdoor place to play. Her two maltipoos were very friendly and playful, and as a result my little guy slept the whole drive back to LA after his play date. Thanks so much!

Mirna took good care of our 9 month old Golden Doodle puppy. She was very personable and communicated with us frequently. Whenever I checked up on Sherlock she promptly responded. Sherlock seemed happy and healthy. In fact he probably ate more at her place cause because we felt he grew bigger.

Thank you Mirna ! We will definitely consider you again for our next outing.

We are very appreciative of Mirna and her husband with their two dogs:

Mirna was very flexible about our drop-off and pick-up times. She gave us a tour of her home where our dog would be staying, and placed his bed close to her bedroom, so she could hear Bentley if he needed help during the night. Mirna kept our pet over Christmas holiday, even though it was short notice!

We were nervous to leave our 2 year old dog (new to us) with anyone, but Mirna sent us updates and pictures several times per day. This helped us relax and enjoy our holiday, knowing that Bentley was adapted to his new surroundings, and being well taken care of!

We have no hesitation in Bentley visiting with Mirna and her two dogs, in the future.

Mirna is absolutely wonderful!! The first time she watched Cooper for me, it was on very short notice as I was leaving town unexpectedly to visit a friend in the hospital. She took Cooper in with open arms and heart. Ever since then she has always always taken great care of Cooper, and I never worry when he's in her care. She updates me on his status throughout his stay, and sends me pictures whenever she can. I know she's something special, because Cooper, who doesn't overly show emotion, always wags his tail when I ask if he wants to go see Mirna!
