Welcome to our mountain oasis where your dog will be treated like family! My husband and I are total dog lovers. We both grew up with dogs since we were kids. We have 3 fur kids (a Bichon, Labradoodle, and Great Pyrenees) that are all super spoiled and always looking for new play mates! All the dogs get along great with others! Our Pyrenees, who is true to his breed and a protector, can occasionally be choosy, but it just depends on the dog.
We have a large fully secured 5 foot fenced in yard and a large doggy door. Both my husband and I work down in Denver during the week and are gone for about 10 to 11 hours a day (from approximately 7am to 5:30pm - I get home later around 7-7:30pm), but we both have Friday's off. So we are typically home Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Our dogs have free roam of our downstairs area and yard via the doggy door all day while we are gone at work, as they are very trustworthy. Dogs are more than welcome at our house during the weekdays, but they must be completely trustworthy with free roam, or be kenneled while we are gone.
When my husband and I are home in the evenings and weekends, we will be giving your dogs lots of cuddles and love! When the weather is nice, we can take them on walks around the neighborhood. We have lots of toys around the house so your dogs won’t be bored! We allow dogs on the furniture as well as in the bed with us. Your dog will be well taken care of if they stay with us and you will have a worry free vacation! I'm constantly taking pictures (yes I'm that dog mom :) ) so you'll get lots of pictures and updates while you're away!
The perfect fur kids match for us and our set up:
- Calm, laid back with mild to moderate energy level. Our Skye loves to run around and play in the yard, but she does tire easily
- Gets along well with other dogs
- Those who are used to being home alone during the work day
- Those that know how to use a doggy door
- Those who are not escape artists – we have a 5ft fence – our dogs have never jumped or dug underneath
- Loves to cuddle :)
This is by no means a mandatory list, it is just a list of what we feel would be a good match. We can always try to accommodate other needs and fur children as well…Please just reach out to discuss your needs and your fur kids :)
PLEASE NOTE: We prefer to take only female dogs, but will consider males as well. We cannot accept Mastiff breeds due to issues with our Pyrenees – he seems to not like the breed. A meet and greet is mandatory prior to booking to make sure it will be a good fit for all involved (exceptions would include if you are too far away or it's short notice, and we deem it to be a good fit from talking).
Besides offering dog boarding, I also offer drop in visits for those close to Burland, Pine Junction, etc. Availability is on the link above. Drop in visits include both dogs and cats. While I take care of the pets, I can also water plants or anything else small that needs done. Monday through Thursday, I can stop by in the evening after work, and potentially in the morning, if needed. Fridays through Sundays I can make at least two visits a day. Rates vary upon location, but start at $15 per visit.
What we would like to know about your dog/dogs...
We would just like to know what their normal routine is and how they are with other dogs. We’d like to know what do you do with them when you’re gone for the day – free roam or kenneled? Are they used to a doggy door? Do they have any special care instructions, like medications, sleeping arrangements, etc? Where do they normally sleep and can they hold their bladder/bowel throughout the night? What are their energy levels?
