I am currently accepting NEW clients again. As always, former clients are welcome.
I've been sitting and boarding through DogVacay for over 3 years now. I am an adjunct professor of art and practicing artist which allows for a flexible schedule to host dogs. My Honda Element loves to have a dog or two in the roomy back. Teaching as a college professor for several years so wrangling a few animals sounds like a dream after minding 20+ students! Dog-sitting is a perfect way for me to earn some extra cash while continuing to pursue my art career and also get some grounding animal contact.
I'm fairly tall at 6'1", athletic build, am not afraid of even the largest animal, happy to handle large dogs on walks.
However, I am NOT accepting problem dogs that: are very anxious, create messes or bark too much (I have a friendly landlord upstairs and want to keep it that way!).
NOTES ON SERVICES & FEES:
- All situations for dogs and owners are different so it's best if you contact me first with potential dates, a description of your animals needs/behavior, and see if we can figure out something that works. I will send you a custom quote.
- I add $6 per additional animal if caring for more than one (this is adjustable if the additional animals are cats or other)
- an unexpected veterinarian visit will trigger an additional $50 fee (this is always done in close consultation with you/your proxy - this is a new, but necessary, adjustment to my fees as it has happened several times and a half day in the hospital with a pup can be a challenge).
- excellent references available upon request.
