I'm a college student with years of pet care experience. I absolutely love animals and I have had pets my entire life. I'm a theatre major who does improv and sketch comedy. I'm very responsible and would treat your furry friends as if they were my own pets. I've often been told that I should become a vet because animals tend to like me a lot, and the feeling is definitely mutual. However, I'm not great at science, only snuggles. I've had dogs and cats my entire life and can't imagine my life if I didn't have pets. I am very passionate about caring for animals, and I have extensive experience with dogs and cats from all different walks of life. Every animal is special, and they all deserve love and great care.

I can do leisurely walks, or walks with some light jogging. I can do up to three dogs at a time if they are smaller, one or two if they are larger. I have experience with leash trained dogs and dogs who aren't as great on a leash. I have also dealt with dogs who are aggressive towards dogs they don't know. I can handle any and all sizes of dogs and I have trained a few dogs on leashes before as well.

Leisurely walk. Usually to a local park... I have children so I will be pushing a stroller as well. Walking dogs forces me to get out and stay active. I try to keep a good pace on the way back, and sometimes take a different route back. I like to keep things interesting and enjoy seeing new things.

I really like to go walking on trails and long distances so they can get some exercise and fresh air! Multiple dogs are not a problem, the more the merrier! Making sure the dogs/puppies are having fun and staying safe are my priority when they are in my care!

Long walks with exposure to grassy area and lots of sniffing opportunities after a regimented walk with not too many frequent interruptions for good reinforcement of good habits! A happy experience! Happy to find Parks and trails, generally great place to walk and romp.

Safety is obviously always my number one concern when walking dogs. Making sure that they never stray into anywhere dangerous is a must at all times. Having a golden retriever, I know he can't help but follow his nose and sometimes that's not always to a safe area, so extra precaution when walking is essential. Also making sure that my pets never get into anything they shouldn't (trash, mushrooms, etc.) is extremely important to their health. Other than that I enjoy walking any pets (jogging is great too) and love doing so. For my 2 dogs I will take them to Dash Point Park and walk the trails or go down to the water's edge to run on the beach and play in the sand.

I have owned dogs and a wide variety of other critters my whole life. I currently am down to our three pups Bobby (our abandonded rescue husky), Vinny (our lab) and and Liaka (our rescue mystery mutt). We also have two Betta fish, Daisy and Zangeef.
I have been a pet sitter since I was 11 caring for dogs, cats, fish, birds, various rodents and reptiles and ferrets. I have rescued and fostered multiple dogs finding them loving forever homes.
I worked for a time in the kennel area of a vet clinic. The hours, unfortunaly, did not work with being a mom if three small (at the time) kiddos. I have experience in dealing with a variety of health issues (age related, allergies, digestive, epilepsy etc) and vastly different personalities. I am calm and caring with all pets. I cannot wait to help care for your pet furry, feathered, finned or scales!

I prefer to keep with a comfortable pace with the dogs I go out with. I prefer to explore what is around me: different parks, subdivisions or even beaches near by. With Washington having a lot to offer, and I enjoy overall being outside. I personally have 2 dogs and am comfortable walking 2 at a time.

I am willing to cater to the dog's personality, whether this means it is a leisure walk or an active/playful walk. I would not do a multiple dog walk. I can also take them for a walk as long as they would like, until one of us gets tired. I enjoy being outside and having mini adventures, if the dog is interested in walking a new route, this is something I will enjoy doing. I like to take a different path every day, so that it isn't monotonous and boring.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Tacoma

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Tacoma, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Tacoma. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
