I walk depending on the dog. Some dogs like leisurely walks whereas some dogs like really active walks. I don't run with them but can jog or bike if needed. I prefer to walk dogs solo but if you have multiple dogs, I can take everyone with me! I have grown up around animals and love walking dogs!

Working on having a more healthy and active lifestyle. I like to run and jog with my dog when he has the energy. I often like to move at the dog's pace. I have only walked 3 dogs together at a time. I do not like to use retractable leashes for safety purposes.

I am a college student currently living with my mom and our dog Watson. My mom may or may not be around when I have dogs here, either way I will be the primary person and she will probably only come to say hi. Watson loves to play but is very nervous around new dogs. He is not aggressive unless the other dog is aggressive though. If your dog is food aggressive or toy aggressive then it probably isn't a good fit here. We keep his food out at all times but if needed we can do a food schedule while other dogs are here. We live in a rambler with mostly carpet and a small amount of hardwood which is mainly covered with carpets. We have a big grassy back yard that is fully fenced with a dog door that fits Watson, who is a large German Shepard mix, so most dogs can fit through it. Watson is allowed on all furniture, and is a very loving dog once he gets used to other dogs. I myself love animals and have taken care of Watson for 2 years now, and helped take care of our other dog Emma for 6 years before she passed in 2015. We also have two mice that are caged and up high, I don't take them out very often and won't take them out around new dogs. My house is right next to a school and two different parks, plus a short drive to the dog park, so walks are always fun and exciting. The school has a big field and I don't go there when children are still there. The parks have water so splashing around might be a thing, and there are a lot of fun trails with tons of new smells.

When taking a dog for a walk I simply specialize the walk to their needs. If the dog is active and more energetic, then I will keep the walk upbeat and thorough. Whereas if the dog is much more laid back, then I will definitely keep the walk simple and nothing more than an enjoyable stroll.

I am willing to do any type of walks the owner desires for their fur baby. If they are very active, i can give them active walks at a park. If they are more leisure, then a slow stroll. However your dogs personality is. I am willing to walk more than one dog as well if needed.

I go to Nathan or Bradley Park. They are nice parks for long walks. I take solo leisurely walks with some jogging if the dog has lots of energy. I will walk to the dogs preference. I will walk continuously or take breaks. For smaller dogs and their little legs I take short breaks. With large dogs I do a continuous walk with out stopping. I bring water and treats, that I ask the owner to provide for awarding good behavior and a job well done.

We love to walk & play with our puppy to keep him fit & active. We go for both active & leisure walks 2x daily. We also play with our puppy as he loves 'throw & fetch' , 'hide & seek', 'go & find' his toys, I also love to walk my neighbor's dogs if they like. They range from small to medium size breeds.

I bring dogs on walks in a solo manner. I do this because I want to make sure I am giving enough attention to each dog individually. Sometimes when dogs are with other dogs walking they tend to pull and maybe get aggressive towards one another, so I just want to the dog to be able to enjoy themselves without having to worry about competing with another dog and I find it safer so no dogs get hurt during the process so I can focus on one dog only for their safety as well.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Puyallup

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Puyallup, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Puyallup. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
