Any style of walking is fine. I am retired so I used to walk my dog 5 or 6 times a day until he got too old. He was a Jack Russell Terrier so I am used to walking a very active dog. He got along with other dogs so aggression was not an issue. I would have no problem walking a dog that did not get along with other dogs as long as I was advised of that situation upfront.

Each case is different depending on the situation and his/her characteristics. For playful puppies I love to help get the energy out. Playing fetch. Water activities in the summer . Jogging instead of walking . For our nature pals we can leisurely stroll around taking our time to sniff everything out. Nice ear scratches.

I no longer will watch puppies. when I visit, I take the dogs out for about 15 minutes at a time for bathroom breaks. After my last review, I will no longer watch puppies because I did my job, and I did everything I was given instructions for. If one visit a day with someone a dog isn't familiar with isn't satisfactory please take them to a kennel instead.
aside from that, I'm a volunteer at the Virginia beach animal control and adoption center. I'm also military.

I prefer to go at a leisurely pace, to start off with to get the dog warmed up. Then after a few minutes we can begin going a bit faster, or whatever the dog prefers. I also like to bring a ball or a rope for the dog to a play with which encourages them to be more active. Most of my experience with dogs has been with animals between 15 to 20 pounds. I have walked three dogs of that weight at the same time. I am comfortable with most dogs of any weight and any age. While in the home I love to play with dogs and interact with them as if they were a child, which brings me great joy to interact with them that way.

I love working with dogs because they are one of the few creatures on this planet the displays unconditional love at all times. They for me are part of the family, and in fact in our family my dog Max was my first child while we were having a difficult time conceiving a human child.

Depends on the situation. If they are leash trained and used to other dogs or are very small I will walk up to 3 dogs at a time. If larger, or pull, and are agreesive towards other animals I would prefer to just deal with the one dog at a time. I live near the virginia beach boardwalk so I have great access to walk a dog . I am also not far from the state park.

I typically bring my dog with me everywhere I go so they are very active walks and play time assuming your dog is comfortable around others. I also can do solo, leisurely walks if required. I am very flexible and will tailor each walk to you and your pets specific needs.

Hi All!
My name is Corinne, I live right across the street from the beach. I like to think of it as my dog's backyard. I have many years experience with taking care of all kinds of pets. My favorite of course are dogs (4 legged children!!). I have been a dog trainer now for about 8 years, so I can handle all kinds of behavior. I have a very laid back dog and she loves to have guests and she welcomes them with wagging tails every time!!
My dog is spoiled to an extent and she gets several walks a day to the beach as your dogs would too (weather permitting). My dog is off leash trained but if yours are or not that is okay, they will always be on leash. We would rather keep them safe.
Just know your dogs will be very well cared for!!

My walks are dependent on the age of the dogs and their level of energy and stamina. I enjoy taking strolls around in my neighborhood and I often enjoy checking out trails, such as First Landing State Park and the broadwalk at Oceanfront. Some dogs prefer short, quiet walk while others like to go jogging. For dogs with high level of energy and stamina, I would play ball with them before going out for walks. I have experiences of walking three dogs at a time but this does not happen often. Most of the times, I'd walk solo or with two dogs. Again, my service is adaptable as per owner's preferences.

My walks will be both active and leisurely. I can walk multiple dogs, but I prefer to only walk one. I love taking them to parks and playing fetch and other games with them. If staying over night I will walk them twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. I will remain attentive for the security of the dog and be alert to other small animals and dogs around us or any cars that may be passing by.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Virginia Beach

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Virginia Beach, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Virginia Beach. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
