Leisurely to mildly active in nature, ranging from 45-60 minutes. Will transport to scenic areas or dog parks if given permission by owner . We will take at least two walks per day, and there will never be more than two dogs total with me on walks and in my care.

I can provide leisurely or active walks. I enjoy walking, running, and bikining. These can all be dinw with a dog. Whatever your dog needs to get exercise. I only do solo walks because I don't want to risk the dogsame pulling or fighting with each other. The walks can be as long or as short as the owner wants.

I would be willing to take your dog to any usual spots that you usually take your doh and in order to keep your dog as happy as possible. I am quite an active individual and ran cross country and track at the collegiate level so if you would also prefer me to take your dog for runs of any length I would be more than happy to do that as well.

I usually walk at a leisurely pace. However, I am also available for fast-paced walking and even jogging if the dog is active and ready to get rid of some energy! My neighborhood is great for walking, with access to multiple dog parks in the area. One to two dogs per walk is ideal.

Generally I prefer to walk the dogs separately due to different reactions they may have to other dogs or people. My roommates and I agree we would rather be safe than sorry in terms of being able to maintain contact with the dogs. Also, we feel it would be unfair if a calm dog had to deal with being stuck beside a dog with leash aggression.

I am able to handle as many dogs as you've got; I can go as slow or as fast as your dogs legs can push forward; I'm open to whatever style your furry friend may have; I'm sure we'd be able to work out whatever situation may be needed; I am very active and run 3-5 miles per day; if your furry friend is very active and is able to do controlled jogs, I could do that as well; if there's a dog park nearby, I'd be willing to take them there; I'm very good at playing fetch, have an 8 yr old lab that still loves to have a catch with her favorite tennis ball/toy

Depending on how well our dogs get along, or how close you live to me, I'll walk your dogs with mine together. Usually I walk for at least 30 min/per walk depending on weather or dog's energy, I may do more or less. I'm very firm with dogs. I've trained mine to walk by my side, NOT in front of me and I'll use special training collars/leashes that I have to walk your dogs as well. I use my leashes/collars for the sole purpose to know that I have control of the animal. You never know what's beyond the next corner or bush or fence, and I want to make sure that everyone on the walk is safe.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Norfolk

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Norfolk, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Norfolk. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
