I am committed to giving professional, responsible, loving care to your pets. I'm a down to earth pet loving person. My goal is to make sure your animal friend is taken care of even when your not around. I am open from Monday-Thursday 2 p.m-1 a.m- Friday, Saturday, Sunday 8 a.m-8:30 p.m. No aggressive dogs please. I like to take walks, go out side or stay inside and play. I have a great play area for the dogs to run around and a porch as well for them to relax when it's warm.

Leisurely to the neighborhood park where the sniff all the new smells and look for the new sounds. Or in your neighborhood streets depending on your preference. Depending on your dog it could be up to 2 dogs or solo. Bookings for short periods of a time.

I'm very active so I can do either a leisurely walk or if you even want me to run with the dog I would be up for that. Whatever the owner needs. Willing to walk more than one dog at once. Wouldn't mind taking the dog to a park or just a walk around the neighborhood. If you would like me to walk the dog twice or once a day on a regular basis I wouldn't mind lowering the rate for each walk.

Solo walks, unless there are two or more dogs in a household that are accustomed to being walked as a pack. I usually bring my one year old and wear her when we do walk, so they are leisurely. If I have my husband home to watch Lillian I like to do interval running with them. It's a wonderful way for them and myself to get exercise. I have a few favorite places that we like walk. I personally like to take trips to the Mariners museum and walk the 5.5 mile nature trail with my dogs. If your dog has a favorite park or trail I am more than happy to take them .

I am from New Jersey and I worked in New York City for about 18 years. Often I have had to take large dogs individually for casual walks as well as to the nearest housing complex dog park.. Often I had to walk multiple dogs because many families in New York live in apartments. Often times large dogs need adequate exercise, because they are living in such a confined area.

The Tail Tells the Tale!
I have a degree in Animal Science. I have owned and operated a cageless doggy day care, so I am familiar with many different breeds of dogs. I have 3 dogs of my own, 2 seniors and 1 teenager. I have fostered English Setters. I can provide pet sitting in your house or mine, as long as everyone gets along, dog walking or backyard playing, and pet taxi to the groomers, vet appointment or run pet related errands. For senior dogs I have a ramp for them to go outside. Customer service is of the upmost importance to my business.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Newport News

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Newport News, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Newport News. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
