Living in Old Town Alexandria gives me an easy accsess to multiple parks walking distance from my house. There's a lot of bike trails close by,so bike rides together or running would be the best option for an active dog, If It's more than one dog at once,it not a problem just to go for a walk together to one of the parks,work out there together,play and enjoy the riverside, I have a car,it's no problem to drive somewhere and go on a hike. If the weather isn't nice enough we can always stay in and watch a movie,my backyard isn't large but big enough for 2 dogs at once,itthe does have fencing so the dogs would be isolted and enjoying themselves with no problem.

Depending on what your dog needs, the walks can be leisurely or active. I love to run and be outdoors especially with dogs! I prefer to run dogs solo due to safety for dog and myself. However, if we are just leisurely walking, then multiple dogs can be together at one time, unless your dog is specific to walking solo.

Due to being very active myself, I can tailor your pup's walks to however short or long that is needed. Not only am I able to provide lengthy or short walks, I am available to play with your pups in the fashion they are already accustomed to within your home. Despite how "good" or "bad" your pup may be on a leash, I have no problem walking up to 4 pups at a time. I have watched/walked many pups before without any issue or cause for concern, both in a neighbourhood setting as well as on the George Washington Parkway path that is very close to where my home is. Depending on the day, your pup will have at least 3-4 walks in the summer months (since I am home from teaching school) to 2-3 walks during the school year. Even inside my home, the pups have free-reign to come and go as they please as well as play within the house; a ball or two have been known to be thrown and retrieved down my hallway! Another feature of a stay with me, is that I often visit my parents who live down the road from myself; they have a large fenced-in backyard in which pups are able to roam off leash, while still being safe. Traveling to their home is a common occurrence that all parties enjoy, especially since they have a pool in the backyard. A few pups have taken the liberty of jumping in during the summer, but nevertheless, they are always supervised no matter the environment!

I have experience with obedience classes and training with my family pets and understand utilize basic commands such as "heal" "left" "right". I tend to be firm with how I choose to handle listening, for instance, if the dog is not listening we will sit and wait until he/she does listen or the walk will be cut short if the behavior is bad enough. All of this comes with follow up messages from me to you letting you know about the walk.
Other than being strict with my walking discipline, I usually take my walks at a brisk pace for energized dogs, but for seniors, special needs (rescue), or puppies, I tend to slow my pace in order to keep a closer eye on movements and tendencies. I am a vocal walker, I do not listen to music or tune or, I pay close attention to the dog and my surroundings and vocally check in with the dog to let them know how they're doing, either with encouragement, reassurance, or with discipline (never harsh).
If you have special commands for your dog please pass those along, I respect that every trainer/obedience program has its own qualities, I do not want to undo the training with my own commands.

Walks vary depending on each individual dogs needs. The average daily walk is leisurely and leashed. I can provide solo walks for dogs with social issues.
