If there is a park nearby, I would walk him/her down to the park for some exercise. I would also play fetch with them. The dog(s) and I would also stop by each tree or bush so they could do their business. I would make sure to take grocery bags with me so I could pick up any poop. With multiple dogs, I would make sure to take enough for all. I would also give each one attention. I'd NEVER leave anyone out!

Leisurely or active walks available. I am a runner, so I am happy to give your pup a little extra exercise if desired! I frequently walk my lab, Potter, to the dog park or just for a casual stroll around the neighborhood. She loves to walk and would love to have a friend to walk with or go to the park with!

I can do any kind of walk that fits your dog's pace. I have experience doing solo walks as well as walks with multiple dogs. I don't mind having a leisurely walk in the park, but can also have more of an active walk jogging or running. Dog park adventures are fun, too, if that's something your pooch might be interested in! I also LOVE hiking which is another option I'd love to do with your pup.

I am willing to walk any type of dog. I do not yet have the ability to correct specific behavioral problems but I am happy to take any dog for a walk. I will also walk with multiple dogs. The more the merrier. We can discuss any specific concerns or requests that you may have before the walks. My goal is to meet you and your pets needs and ensure your dogs health and happiness.

I enjoy taking dogs on runs, but walking is great too if I have an older or smaller dog. One to three dogs is usually good for me. I'm used to walking large, strong dogs. I'm also used to dogs getting distracted by the surrounding environment. I prefer running or walking around parks or neighborhoods.

Walks will be solo with your dog. We will take them for a leisurely, fun walk and maybe stop to play for a few minutes. We only walk in safe places and only on a leash. We are very careful to make sure they enjoy themselves and also to prevent any problems with other dogs or people or themselves.

Any level of walks-- I love to run and used to do cross country and track & field in high school, so I'm used to running longer and faster distances.

I've ran with dogs before; I used to go for runs with my boyfriend's german shepherds. Can handle multiple dogs at a time, if well-behaved and leash-trained.

I am able to accommodate all kinds of walks, I am an occasional runner, and am always open to having a running friend. Hiking is usually the best way to poop out our furry friends, but of course, light walking is always an option for some of our older or mellow dogs. I have walked up to four dogs before, but primarily walk just one at a time.

I offer a few different types of walks. I can leisurely walk your dog with my dog. I can also run for 30 minutes with just your dog alone. I can take your dog to Tanner Park (an off-leash dog park) with my dog if your dog is trained to return to me when I call their name. Or I can walk your dog alone.

Leisurely walks around the neighborhood and/or in a nearby park. I prefer to only walk one or two small dogs or one medium dog at a time, so that I can give the dogs (and their environment) more individual attention. I believe that walks should be fun! Within safe limits, I allow dogs to sniff and wander to their heart's content. (I am unable to accept any large dogs, due to my physical limitations.)

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Salt Lake City

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Salt Lake City, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Salt Lake City. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
