I am a dog person and in my experience, I have owned dogs my entire life and two cats. I've dog sat for a few family members and a friend while they were away because they trust how caring I am for animals. My own dogs are treated as family. Also, when I visit my grandmother quite often I usually put her dogs on the leash and take them for a walk down river road or through Brackenridge park. I enjoy playing tug of war and fetch with my dogs. Dogs love me as well as I love them, therefore shouldn't be a problem with getting comfortable with one another.

Hi there! My name is Stephanie and I am a responsible, detail-oriented pastry chef doubling as a loving animal care taker. I have extensive experience with animals, as I have grown up with them in my own home and also currently have two beautiful cats. One was a rescue from the Humane Society and the other was born to a stray I took in when I was a young teen. I am constantly surrounding myself with these furry friends; I’ve had birds, rabbits, dogs and cats throughout my life.
I would love to meet your furry family members and care for them as if they were my own. As a graduate from the Culinary Institute of America, I can also provide your pet with custom treats tailored to their dietary needs. No dog is too small, too big, too young or too old for my services. Please feel free to message me with any questions about my services or to work out a contracted rate.

I am able to take your dog for a walk solo especially if they're bigger or in multiples if they are smaller we can either walk or jog the trail or neighborhood if you'd like us to stay close by. I like to keep a bottle water on me at all times they do get thirsty just like my little rat terrier does

I can provide what the dog (or dogs ) requires. I can walk up to three dogs at a time as long as they aren't huge dogs. I can provide play time also. If your dog likes to play fetch with a stick or a ball, I can do that with him/her. I had a lab mix that would play ball forever. I watch a golden retriever who also enjoys chasing the ball. The dog I have now likes playing with her stuffed elephant which involves tug of war and chase me with my toy. I watch a weimaraner who likes to play with stuffed animals also. I have had various dogs through out my life and I enjoy them very much. I treat them like I treat my kids and grand kids. My dogs are family and I will treat any dog that I watch like they are my own.

I have personal training in walking elderly dogs since my own 7yr old pitbull has hip problems. I know what terrain is a good physical walk (keeping their disabilities in mind) for a elderly or handicap dog. I also have personal training in walking young pups to active adolescent dogs in making their walk more entertaining so they can burn out their energy or get their much needed exercise. Some of my walks include free leash park enclosures or relaxing environment around nature walks.

Walks vary depending on the owner's preferences. I have been more active with a few dogs and less active with smaller dogs. I usually walk dogs 3 times a day. I usually monitor how much energy the dog has to make sure he/she gets walked enough but isn't completely exhausted! I love walking dogs, so I leave the amount up to the owner! I am very flexible in this position.

I would play with theses throughout the walk. I would make sure the dog gets an opportunity to use the restroom and stays active. I usually like to do solo walks with dogs because if there are multiple dogs it may cause a problem. The dogs will have a chance to get exercise for a long period of time without having to be stuck in a small area. I can guarantee that the dog will have ample time to stay active and have some play time.

I have lived in San Antonio for about three years but previously I lived in Houston and worked at Petco to take care of dogs. I have owned two dogs And loved them to death. My fiancé won't let me have a dog but has agreed on either taking care of dogs or having them stay the night. I look forward to meeting he/she and having a great time with them. My apartment has a huge area they can run around or stay in my cozy apartment.

I can handle multiple dogs well. We can have leisurely walks for some exercise for your pup, or, we can have a faster paced brisk walk to get your pups energy extinguished. I find that it serves the pups better for the pack mentality when walked together, as it serves as good solid bonding time. If absolutely necessary, I can walk your dogs solo but it's recommended they walk together. If there are any special instructions, just let me know. I know every dog and their temperament can be different.

I think the best walking is solo. Your dog will not be distracted and everything will be awesome.

Your animal will be happy when we walk ;) ...i like walking a lot and explore places. Your dog will be in my attention all the time, on leash.

Leisurely walking is the best.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in San Antonio

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in San Antonio, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in San Antonio. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
