I've grown up with dogs over the last 23 years. I've been around large dogs majority of my life ranging from multiple rotts, pitbulls, labs, collies, and german shepards, now owning a pit and chihuahua myself.

My husband and I love our dogs as if they were our children and would love to have your dog in our home. We will treat your dogs as if they were our own. Over weekend visits, we'd love to take your dog with our family to the Green belt or a dog park to stay active. We have a medium sized back yard that is fenced in so easy in and out for potty-time! Dogs have full reign of the downstairs of our 2 story home and are allowed on the couches.

We recently rescued a cat who is sweet, laid back and does her own thing.

Some things that will help us get to know your dog better:
Is your dog crate trained? Do they sleep in their crate? What time do they eat? How much do they eat? Does your dog have behavioral issues? How does your dog act around other dogs? Do they have aggressive tendencies? Are they house broken? Do they have frequent accidents? Does your dog have any health issues? Is there anything else we will need to be aware of?

Solo walk: I can work on any pulling, leash reactivity, heel, sit, down, recall (come), sitting at stop lights, and take your best furry friend wherever they would like to go! I can also provide supervision at the dog park, and make sure that play is appropriate, and that your pup also takes breaks. I always carry a spare portable water canteen for your pups. Water is IMPORTANT! Especially on a hot day!

Pack walk: I can walk multiple dogs while making sure every pup stays right where they should! Walking multiple dogs is so much fun! I love to make friends for the dogs and can take the pack wherever they would like to go! Don't worry! I make sure to pack plenty of water for the pack!

My kids and I live in a safe, friendly, well kepted , moderate size subdivision located miles from the highway. We are very active and enjoy walking, jogging and biking through our neighborhood. We also enjoy going to the Travis County East Metro park ( located about a mile from our house) to walk the trails. I can ensure that your pet will enjoy active or leisurely walks (depending on your pets age and preference) throughout our neighborhood or on the hiking trails at the nearby park. I can also promise that your beloved furry friend will not lack attention or exercise. He or she will be fully entertained and engaged by myself and my kids when it comes to playtime (playing fetch with a frisbee or ball or tug of war with a chew rope) whether its in our house or in our nice sized fenced in backyard. Your pet will be pampered and adored with lots of petting, scrathing and cuddling and included in our family activity time.

Our plan:

We are simple beings, with simple plans.
Bring love and care to friends of man.
They walk and run, in day and night
They mostly play, sometimes fight.
We feed them well and watch them eat.
Food and water or maybe treat.
We train for good, against the bad.
Listen to all, Mother and Dad.
Our pledge to you is loving care.
For one and all, no matter where.

I have always had animals in my home and cared for others animals. Animals are like children. We give them a home and feed them but they need so much more. They need guidance and understanding. We can't expect them to understand what we don't teach them.

Compassion and love can overcome any training challenge. Train with care, train with compassion.

We love animals and want to make sure they get the love and respect that you yourself would show them. If this is what you are looking for in a sitter, please give us a call.

We will consider any dog for care.

We can do walks solo if the dog is more comfortable that way. We can do active walking/jogging to get more energy out faster, or a slower walk to just give them some outdoor time. Older pets we will do slower walks and let them enjoy the outdoor time at their pace.

My walks depend solely on the pet. Some prefer or require shorter and slower walks due to age, injuries, or breed. Other dogs like to jog or walk at a brisk pace and for longer time periods. Usually my dog walks are 15-30 min depending on the dog. If the dog is higher energy, I will walk it longer at no additional charge. I only walk dogs that reside in the same household and never mix seperately owned dogs on the walks.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Manor

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Manor, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Manor. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
