I can handle whatever is needed. I enjoy going on leisurely walks, but occasionally will do a mix of jogging and walking to keep it mixed up. I've walked multiple pets before and it doesn't bother me to do so. I'm very flexible to do whatever is needed.

I am very active and can go jogging or hiking with high-energy dogs to help them exercise. I can also go on long leisure walks in the park for dogs with less energy. I would be happy to take multiple dogs on walks or go to a nearby dog park to play fetch and let them run around and play.

I walk trails from Georgetown to North Austin several times a week. Whatever type of terrain would benefit your animal I'll get them there! I'll adapt to their needs, so if you're looking for your dog to lose a little weight we can take our time, or if s/he is up to it I can jog for a few miles. I can walk several small dogs, two 20-30 pound dogs, or one large dog at a time.

I like to let the dog kind of tell me what type of walk they are in the mood for. If they want to run a little and get their 'ya ya's' out, that's cool! I'm active and can keep up just fine. But, if they like to take their time and sniff every blade of grass along the way, that's okay too! It's all about them! :)

My walks are at a simple pace. I usually walk around my neighborhood which includes between 2 mile walks and 3 miles. If your dog is over weight or usually unactive to a strenious walking routine, I will cut the walk for their health. I will judge your pets mobility and adjility.

Our home consists of two adults and one child (part-time), four dogs and a cat. I have worked with animals all my life, from dog training to veterinary care to boarding/day care facilities. My dog, Cadee, and I were a part of a local Search and Rescue team for a few years until an injury took us out of the game.

Our home has a large, fenced-in backyard with plenty of shade, as well as lots of local wildlife! The general living areas are tile, so cleaning up messes isn't too bad. :) We've housed dogs from 5 - 125 lbs comfortably here, so don't worry about your baby being too small or too large!

We are best suited for low-key dogs with low to moderate activity levels. We have one deaf geriatric dog and one blind one with bad knees. We want to make sure everyone is comfortable and no one gets hurt. :)

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Georgetown

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Georgetown, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Georgetown. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
