I love to walk and hike here in Austin. I am always taking my fur babies to dog parks and hiking trails and would love to offer the same for the pups I watch. There are so many great trails and parks for dogs in Austin. Very pup friendly! I can walk up to 2 dogs at a time.

I have walked a dog for a friend who lived in a not great neighborhood with stray dogs running around and was able to handle that successfully. I have also walked two boxers for a family I used to nanny for in California. The dogs were very protective of me but were good listeners.
Most recently I have walked, washed and taken a dog to appointments as a personal assistant. The owner ended up adding a dog bed in my office because the dog became very attached to me!

my dog walks are the best. My walks are leisurely and active . really depends on the energy on the dog i am walking. I can walks multiple dogs or just one dog. I know every dog needs their exercise and play time plus its very stimulating to the dog to enjoy theirs walk as well.

I adjust my walks to the dogs' abilities. I can offer a leisurely stroll for either a short or long distance, or I'm happy running along for a few miles, if the dog has a lot of energy. I can confidently handle multiple dogs. I have had high energy dogs that like to pull hard on the leash and have been able to maintain a hold of the leash at all times.

I like to walk and will gauge my walks to the dog's ability. Depending on the breed , you have to adjust your walk. This also goes along with age and health. Some walks may be a short distance due to dog not being in great health . But even so the short walk is great exercise and necessary. I just adapt to the dog. I have watched hunds that can go forever and for these I would put on my running shoes and take them running for a few miles. I have also watched the tiny dogs without much endurance snd we have gone a few blocks and also had a great walk.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Cedar Park

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Cedar Park, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Cedar Park. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
