I usually walk the sawmill branch trail one dog at a time. I would prefer a dog who has a harness. I can handle a dog who pulls and will try to train them not to. I am walk fast-paced so your dog should get a work-out. I bring extra water for the doggies especially during the summer months. Your dog will be in good hands with me!

I am also willing to take your dog to the dog park at no extra charge. I will walk them on leash as a leisurely pace. I have a dog which willl also come if your dog prefers the company of another dog. I will go as far as James Island for the dog park especially if your dog prefers to swim in the water.

Can be solo or multiple dogs. Leisurely or active or both, depending on client's wishes. If it is really hot outside, I'd recommend to do active walks in the morning or evening. I can also visit dog parks so your pooch gets adequate supervised exercise.

I would feel comfortable with casual walks or going for a run with your dog. I would feel comfortable with multiple dogs if they were leash trained. If you have a cat that likes to walk on a leash then I can take your cat for a walk as well. Going to a dog park is an option as well if you feel comfortable with your dog being at a dog park. If dogs are capable I like to go for long walks or a run. I believe just being outside in nature helps to relax the animals by bringing them back into their natural environment. I like to walk/run the Cooper River Bridge, The Battery, the beaches, and Hampton Park is my favorite park in Charleston.

I like to have solo one on one time with dogs/puppies that way I can get to know them better and give them my undivided attention. I like to go running with my dog so if they are up to the challenge then I say lets go for it. But I also like the leisurely stroll.

I would be more than happy to come to your house and walk you dog(s) or can let them out several times a day. I own 3 dogs of my own so know how important it is for them to get the exercise and socialization and I'll do it with much love and care. Dogs are my passion.

There are miles of sidewalks in my neighborhood. I always walk my dog early in the morning and after his evening meal (at 5pm). We usually walk for 30-40minutes. I can walk two dogs at the same time. I find the more exercise the pups have, the more relaxed and happy we all are.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Summerville

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Summerville, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Summerville. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
