I am comfortable walking 2 dogs at a time. I can provide whatever type of walk you want for your dog. We can take a leisurely stroll or a more fast-paced energy burning walk :) I would prefer to walk your dog in your neighborhood. I am not comfortable going to a dog park.

I'm a little lady, so as long as I can handle your dog on leash, I can walk however he likes--if he prefers going on runs, let me know and I'll wear my running shoes; if he's more a stop-and-smell-ALL-of-the-roses kinda pup, that's fine, too. Just let me know, so I can cater to his needs. And just to be safe, we'll have a meet and greet first to make sure everyone feels comfortable and happy :)

Walks slow to medium pace and as long as may be needed. I have experience in training dogs to stop leash pulling in a safe and effective manner if your pet is in need of some training. I am willing to go out for shorter periods if it is raining. Not really good at running maybe a slight jog will be ok.

I am happy to meet the needs of the dog and the owners preferences. I am available to walk, run/jog depending on the dogs energy level and regular routine. I would be comfortable walking 2 dogs at a time with large/medium breeds, if they are smaller dogs and are used to walking together 3 dogs are fine. If the dogs are aggressive towards other animals I prefer to walk them alone.

I like to run so I can talk your dog for a run, alternating from running to walking depending on your dogs activity level whether it be a leisurely walk the whole time or more jogging and running. I do not have a problem walking multiple dogs at a time. I also live close to the Columbia River walk which would be a great place to walk/run especially if your dog loves water!

My walks vary depending on the needs of the dog. For larger dogs I walk a faster pace in order to get them a decent amount of exercise. Older dogs or smaller dogs would be walked more leisurely. I am experienced with dog's that are not leashed trained and I am experienced with walking several dogs at a time. For dog's that are very hyper I will take them on a very active walk that includes jogging.

I enjoy walks of many natures:Leisurely, active, multiple dogs, solo or whatever is necessary. I cater walks to fit the lifestyle requested by pet owners. I usually prefer to stick to what the pets are accustomed to, to avoid separation anxiety and to keep them on regular schedule. However, if requested and the pet owner and I discuss it prior to my caring for the pets, then other options can be catered to as well.

Open to walking up to three dogs at one time. Can locate nearest dog park and allow dog to run around and play fetch, if they get along with other dogs. I carry a collapsible water bowl and water with me for water breaks along the way, and I make sure dogs don't walk on concrete for too long on hot days. I can bring my dog along for a play date if that interests you, and assuming your dog(s) interact well with other dogs.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Columbia

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Columbia, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Columbia. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
