My walks are specific to the type of dog I'm walking. Depending on how they act in their environment (around new people, pets, busy places) is how I will make my walks. Your dog's safety and care is my first priority. I am willing to take your dog for a walk solo, or with its dog companion. Depending on the area, I will take your dog for a run, or maybe just go for a leisurely walk.

Walks will be a good amount of time. I believe it's important to walk your dog and quick walks do not do them justice. I can do multiple dogs or I can do just one. If needed I could also exercise with the dog, Dogs need their exercise too! I'm willing to travel to a park to exercise or play with your dog! I love to theow a frisbee or a tennis ball with a dog.

I can take them on a long leisurely walk or do a mix of running and walking with them! If they are small dogs I can handle two on a leash however with larger size dogs I prefer to walk one at a time. Any preference you have I will definitely make sure to accommodate it and give your pup the best walk for them!

Walking a dog in downtown Charleston is great. I take my dog Otter down by the battery and back through the neighborhoods behind the battery on a nice long walk. He is usually pretty tired afterward. My brother also lives in Charleston and I take his yellow lab with Otter on walks frequently.

I'm an active person and love to go for runs. I'm able to go at the pace your dog prefers and in accordance to the weather. I'm also comfortable walking multiple dogs at a time if they are comfortable with it. I like to seek out new spots/trails and parks to hike on, but if your dog has a routine or walk that is easier for them I am very open to accommodate!

I can provide both leisurely and active walks. I Live right near Hampton Park so that is always an option if visiting with other dogs is preferable. Many people bring dogs of all ages and sizes to enjoy the walking/running paths as well as open areas to play fetch, etc. I live downtown and love to walk everywhere and would love the company of a furry friend!

I love to walk dogs and see all of their great personalities. I also love to let the dog decide what type of walk we go on, as long as it is within reason. If the dog would like to trot i love a good jog. I also like slow walks and would be great at listening to the owners requests as far as what to let the dog do and what not to let them do. I could walk multiple dogs at the same time. I also like to play fetch with my own dog and love to play tag too. I really love dogs and would enjoy walking any dog small or big. Dogs are people too.

I am a very active individual with a natural love for the outdoors. Having always been a pet lover, I love to bring my dogs on runs with me because they are some of the best motivators out there! However, if I am watching an older dog, I am perfectly content with walks through a nice park or even around the neighborhood!

My ideal walk is a solo leisurely walk that will give a dog a chance to go to the bathroom and also get some exercise in. I tend to do intervals where we're picking up the pace a bit for a little fat burn, but nothing too intense.

Walks sometimes will be in a neighborhood or on a trail, however, I absolutely enjoy taking dogs to the beach and doing a one to two mile walk.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Charleston

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Charleston, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Charleston. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
