Up to the dog and the dog's needs! Very flexible. Can be as active or as leisurely as the dog needs but with necessary leadership and control of the dog. I can walk up to two dogs at once. I can also take dogs to dog parks or other parks and let them off leash if that is desired and am able to get them back under control and back on leash.

I will do up to two dogs at the same time. I am a leisurely walker and like to do flatter terrains, especially in the winter. I love to take walks on Blackstone Blvd and in the surrounding area. I have experience working with dogs who are anxious around other people and dogs. I would also love to take dogs to parks and play fetch or have them run around to burn some energy. I am willing to work with owners on the type of energy levels and activities they would like me to do with their dog.

I'm glad to adjust our walks based on the needs of the dog. We can take it slow on the sidewalks, run around some nearby hills, or anything else your pup might need, I enjoy the personal touch of working with one dog, but am glad to take out two pups.

I am open to either leisure or active walks, depending on your dog's preference! If you need someone to exercise your dog while on a walk (for instance by playing fetch or running with them for short stretches), I am happy to take care of that as well so that your dog is satisfied. I am comfortable walking multiple smaller dogs at once, or one large dog at a time.

Deanna can provide a leisurely walk to one or two small dogs. The two dogs must be from the same household otherwise one dog will have a solo walk. Walk can become active if the dog needs for short periods of time. I would be happy to come by your house for free in order to do a meet-and-greet.

I can accomodate any activity level.
Dog like to run? Let's go for a run!
Play frisbee in the park? Sure!
Just a stroll through the neighborhood? Let's do it!
Tell me about your dog, what does he/she like to do? Can they be walked with other dogs? Are dog parks okay?

I know every dog is different. And I am more than happy to make sure your dog is comfortable and having fun.

The level of walk (leisurely vs. active) will depend on the individual needs of the dog (age, temperament, size, etc.). Dogs walks will be solo unless they are siblings (dogs from the same household). I have two dogs of my own (one small, one large) that receive a daily walk so I am very familiar with working with dogs of all sizes. My goal is to make sure that every dog is healthy, well-exercised, and happy.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Providence

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Providence, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Providence. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
