My husband works nights and I work days so we can alternate walks when one of us isn't home. We can also plan around your schedule if you would like, for example, if you walk your dog daily at 6 pm so will we. We have several parks near by and will take any dog at the house at the same time. We will also try and help you train your pet if needed.

I enjoy taking dogs on Leisurely walks. I prefer doing 30-minute walks at a time. But can offer longer walks as well. I can offer walks with multiple dogs (if all dogs are friendly) as well as one-on-one walks. I can also train dogs to walk better on leash if that is something you are working on / want to work on. I also provide normal clean-up on walks.

I am able to provide any type of walk needed for your dog(s), including a leisurely stroll, active; meaning to a dog park to interact with other dogs off the leash or running/jogging (I am a runner and am happy to amp up the pace a bit to burn off extra energy). I am able to walk multiple dogs at a time if needed as well.

Depends on the dog, if they are older I like to take my time and allow the dog to smell and enjoy the outdoors. Smaller dogs sometimes like to walk for a few minutes and then would like to be carried but still want to sniff the air and get some vitamin D. When walking a dog I let them determine how fast or slow they want, I never pull on them and make the dog go faster then they want to go. I treat all dogs the way I treat my own dog and go every step to be careful and be aware of my surroundings. The dogs safety is number one to me! Being a little dog owner takes a certain personality type and I love all dogs but especially the little dogs.

I will follow yours and your dogs lead. If you have an energetic pup I will give it an active workout. If you have an elderly dog I will take it slow. I will work with your dog on leash training if needed. I don't mind pullers though. I can take multiple dogs as well.

I will walk 1-3 dogs at a time. I like to use a gentle leader/Halti on my own dog. He doesn't pull hard, but it is like magic for those that do. It is just a good tool to use to let a pup know that it is walk time, and I am the leader. I usually bring it along when walking all dogs. If I think it could be useful, I give it a try. If a dog park is near by, that would be perfect to get them playing ball or to get in a good chase. I bring my own poop bags and treats, and we just make the best of our surroundings.

Whatever type of walk your dog needs, I can provide it. Whether it be leisurely or active, long or short. I am comfortable taking multiple dogs at once. I also can work with your dog if they have trouble pulling on the lead or walking too far ahead. I like going to nature parks, parks, forests for my walks

I walk at the pace the dog sets, so if they are very active and want to move quickly, I'm ready to go. If they are wanting more of a stroll. we can do that too. Just getting them outside in the fresh air and letting the stretch and smell makes them so happy!
I make sure we walk in safe areas, not on busy roads.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Tigard

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Tigard, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Tigard. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
