I would enjoy taking leisurely walks with up to two dogs depending on their size and behavior. Larger dogs and harder to walk dogs I would love to take one at a time. I have experience walking larger dogs, but will not walk two at a time unless both are very calm for their safety and mine.

I like to go on leisurely, casual walks as well as active, adventurous ones. It really depends on what the dog wants to do. I am okay with walking up to 4 dogs at once. More friendly dogs can go to parks, less friendly ones can go on private hiking trails or even just stay around the neighborhood.

Walks will be on a case by case basis, if the dog happens to be older I will take it slower and shorter, and if the dog is young/energetic, the walks will be a little more involved. I also live near a walking park and a dog park, so we will have plenty of time and places to go.

I would be willing to walk probably 2 dogs at once just depends on how well they walk on a leash and how big they are. While walking dogs I would have short times where we run a little bit. Other then that it would be a normal walk or a speed walk depending on the dogs energy.

I prefer to do solo or walks with two dogs; as to give your dog as much love and attention as it deserves. I walk at a brisk pace and can also run if your dog is high energy and would like the exercise. I usually walk in the local neighborhood you live in, so the dog is familiar with the surroundings or go to a park if it is unsafe for the animal. If you already have a walking routine I would love to follow that so your dog is comfortable and happy.

I'm a very relaxed person so the walks I provide are leisurely walks around the neighborhood. I'm always willing to try new things, so if there is a suggested walking destination provided, I'm more than willing to comply! I am comfortable with walking multiple dogs as long as they are not (reasonably) unruly. But, I am a dog lover, and I do understand that any type of walks a dog is subjected to will result in more than just a wagging tail. As long as the dogs allow me to walk them, and not vice versa, walking multiple dogs is not an issue for me!

I like to only walk two-three dogs at a time so that I can be in good controle and can give them one on one love while walking. I walk at a normal pace and take water breaks occasionally. I will play fetch with dogs if their owners allow it and it is in a safe in closed place, such as a yard. I often bring my dog along who is updated on all of her shots and friendly with everything and everyone. She is also a service dog for diabetes.

Can be whatever the owner prefers and the needs of the dog! My pup loves to be off leash on walks and loves to play frisbee! I am also a runner so if your pup needs a run I am happy taking your pup along! Free to do an easy stroll around the park or even just the neighborhood alone or with others!

About me: I have lots of experience with long terms dogs that I have watched or still currently watching. I watch two German shepherds for a little over 6 months. The owner travels back and forth for his job every week so he hired me permanently for his dogs when he travels. One of them was still a puppy when he started to use my services. I got to watch her grow and developed a strong bond with her. I also have watched various of other dogs at long terms for different reasons which lasted anywhere from two to three months. I would be more than happy to provide their info if you wish to speak to them as a reference so that you feel more secure on your pups stay. I am also a foster for dogs that are either lost, abused, abandoned, and other various reasons. I will first try to find their owner if they are lost or wandering. I have done that for three dogs that got out of their backyard I'm supposing and was wandering around. I didn't want them to get ran over and I don't have the heart to drive away. However, I usually reunited them with their family within 24 hours thanks to the help of social media. With that being said, I try to keep lots of extra doggy treats, play toys, and everything else that may be accommodating for your pup on their stay to make them feel more at home. I will send updates as frequently as I can and hope to give you the best stress free service.

Thanks so much for reading!

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Norman

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Norman, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Norman. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
