About: I've owned and cared for cats my entire life and began pet sitting for neighbors & friends ~10 years ago. I love all animals and truly adore being able to meet and bond with new pets as a part of my daily life. Something to note: I have experience medicating cats since my fur baby was a diabetic who required insulin injections daily for 5+ years of his life. I'm fairly new to Rover (~2 years active), hence my lack of reviews compared to other sitters, but I assure you that I do everything in my power to exceed all care expectations and treat your home with the utmost respect :) I work part time in Stony Brook, primarily on Wednesdays. My shifts are no longer than 6 hours typically. My schedule is very flexible and I am open to working with each pet owner to meet their care needs. My personal cats have always been indoor/outdoor because we never wanted to deprive them of the outside world. I understand why some pet owners only allow indoor animals and I completely respect that! My home has always treated its animals with as much care as you would a baby. Although I do not do take-home services, I will treat your home with an equal amount of respect and kindness as I do my own.
9. Aurora J.

11. Damaris H.
“I have never seen someone love and care for animals as just as my mother does. She loves to say she loves pets more than people and I can confirm that what she say is true. I admire how much she dedicates her time to the dogs she watches and even if she was not my mother would would 100% trust her with my pups. I highly recommend!”
12. Dana B.
“I have known Dana for many years. She has had dogs and has cared for my dog and cats. Dana has a very happy demeanor and is not afraid of challenging pets. My French Bulldog Tuxedo scared away 3 pet sitters / dog walkers. Dana was amazing with him. She gained his trust and has always been able to handle him, even on his moody days. Tuxedo adores Dana and is always thrilled to see her. She gets down to his level and shows him love and kindness. Tuxedo, in return shows Dana a ton of love. Dana had also stayed at my home while I’m away to care for my pets. She is careful and trustworthy. If you have any questions for me, please do not hesitate to contact me.”

About: What sets me apart as a dog sitter is my comprehensive approach to pet care, emphasizing not just the physical but also the emotional well-being of the animals under my care. With a background in animal behavior, I specialize in training puppies, using positive reinforcement techniques to establish good habits early on. For senior dogs, I provide gentle care tailored to their unique needs, ensuring they remain comfortable and engaged despite any age-related challenges. Additionally, I am skilled in administering medication and first aid, for I am an EMT. This makes me well-prepared to handle a wide range of health needs. My commitment to regular, open communication with pet owners means you'll always stay updated on your pet's adventures and well-being. Whether it's a high-energy puppy or a senior dog, I strive to create a nurturing environment that feels like a second home to every pet. Pet care seamlessly integrates into my daily routine, reflecting my genuine passion for animals and their well-being. Each morning starts with a dedicated time for outdoor walks or playtime, ensuring my dog under my care get the exercise and stimulation they need to start their day happily. Throughout the day, I balance my own work and responsibilities with regular check-ins, play sessions, and cuddle times, maintaining a comforting presence for my pet. Weekly, I allocate specific days for longer adventures or visits to dog parks, where my dog can socialize and enjoy a change of scenery, enhancing their physical and mental health. For my dog with specific training routines or medical needs, I schedule consistent times for these activities to ensure they receive consistent care and attention. Caring for pets, whether in my home or a client's, revolves around ensuring safety, comfort, and a lot of love. Here's how I approach both scenarios: In My Home I ensure my home is pet-proofed, with no small objects they can choke on, secure trash cans, and safe, comfortable resting areas.I maintain a consistent schedule for feeding, walks, and playtime, aligning as closely as possible with their usual routine to minimize stress. Each pet receives individual attention, from belly rubs to personalized play sessions, ensuring they feel at home. If compatible, I carefully introduce pets to my resident animals or other pets under my care, supervising interactions to foster positive social experiences. Regular grooming sessions are part of the care, along with prompt clean-up of any accidents to maintain a hygienic environment. In the Client's Home Keeping pets in their familiar environment reduces stress. I follow their usual routine for meals, walks, and bedtime.I ensure the home is secure at each visit, checking locks and monitoring any potential hazards. I engage pets with their favorite toys and activities, ensuring they get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Regular updates, including photos and messages, keep pet owners informed and reassured about their pet's well-being. For pets with specific dietary or medical requirements, I meticulously follow provided instructions to administer medications or prepare meals.
