Leisurely happen the most frequent throughout the day. More than willing to do multiple amounts of walks a day, I prefer to for my own health benefit as well. I also love to take dogs on runs with me at least once a day. I am very open and capable of multiple and solo walks. Near my home in Long Island City there are multiple dog parks and open areas for runs and river walks and doggy playgrounds for interaction with other pets.

i would take your dog on a few walks -- i could take him/her to the local dog parks (if that's something you want and are okay with) and can walk him/her with my little dog or on their own. i am close to a lot of dog parks in LIC so its easy for me to get to them. any instructions on how you like your dog walked and if they get aggressive with other dogs is also helpful to know too!

I am able to do a variety of paces and activities. I have had several large and small dogs of varying ages on walks and can adjust accordingly. I can also include other activities, such as fetch, if desired. I am able to handle large dogs on a leash as well as work with them on leash training to your specific commands. I also can work with senior dogs who need to take it a little easy and may need breaks now and then, I truly love spending time with animals and look forward to the chance to interact with them!

Your dog will always have a good buddy to walk with. We will usually go to the park or to the dog run by the river. I never walk more then 2 dogs at once, this way they get attention they need ;) Depending on the dog, we can go far, or stay locally. We can have a fast walk and get them really tired, or have a slower walk to explore the neighborhood with plenty of time for sniffing :)

I can walk dogs solo or in groups (no more than three dogs at a time would be preferred). I am really active and can spend a lot of time walking. I don't mind doing more active play -- such as playing fetch or running/sprinting in open spaces.

When I'm walking someone else's dog I always ask the owner what commands and habits they are working on. If you are trying to get your dog to heel, then I can reinforce that when i'm walking (if its a solo walk, obviously).

I love walking dogs! I love seeing the city and having dog companions makes it that much more interesting and fun.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Queens County

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Queens County, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Queens County. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
