I enjoy a leisurely walk through the neighborhood at varying paces (or frequent stops if your pup prefers to "Stop and Smell the Roses" like mine). I am not much of a runner, though - so slow to moderate and steady wins! Solo or Multiple Walkers Welcome - I have no preference! I can handle up to 3 at a time to provide close watch and to give adequate attention to each!

Adjectives for walks? Leisurely, Serene, and Attentive.

Will make sure dogs never go onto lawns with pesticides, and will ensure dog bags/treats will be on hand.

Neighborhood is in Elmwood Village, dog walking paths and parks are within walking distance (30 mins).

Will be able to handle multiple dogs on walks. If owner has specific preferences regarding treats, or places the dogs are comfortable with.

Water bottles will be handy during warmer months, and I will carry supplies in backpack to ensure the dogs are well cared for according to the owner's requests.

In case the dogs have behavioral tendencies to be mindful of, such as aggression or aversion/phobias, I will take note of that and ensure that there are no situations where the dogs will be uncomfortable. Dogs will not be taken to dog parks unless requested by owner, and if requested, please let me know if there are any issues with aggression or other behaviors to be mindful of.

Lastly, I say that my care for dogs is synonymous with my own well being. I will make sure to make it a positive and fun experience for your pets.

The walks are for the dogs benefit therefore I don't hurry them, they smell what they want, they zigzag all they want and I make sure they are treated like my own dogs! If a dog enjoys nearby dog parks that is also an option.
I always double leash dogs for their safety and I provide all that is necessary

Walks will be leisurely, through Elmwood Village, and I can walk up to 3 dogs at a time depending on their size. The longer the walk the better, I walk everywhere and enjoy spending my time outside and always bring plenty of water along so an hour or more is recommended.

Depending on the dogs temperament, I am willing to take a leisurely stroll or an active walk/run with the pup. Either would be great! I would prefer to take dogs to parks, close by, away from cars. I have no problem walking multiple dogs at one time.

I take dogs on leisurely walks, I prefer solo dog walks so that I maintain good control of your animal and we can enjoy the experience. I prefer to not use the retractable leashes as they are an easy way for accidents to happen. I let the animals sniff around and enjoy themselves but I also keep us walking so that they get some daily exercise in.

We walk our dog Fran 3-4 times a day and will likely try to build the dogs we sit into this schedule, while still able to be flexible depending on owners needs. Fran's walks consist of following;
Early am - 7-9am 30-45 minute walk with occasional running built in.
Early afternoon - 12-1pm 30-45 minute leisurely walk or visit to park
5pm - long walk, 45min to 1.5 hours.
Late walk - 8-10pm leisure walk, 15-30 min.

My walks include early morning strolls as well as moderate jogs. Running with dogs are a nessesity. Depending on the size of the dog I may roller skate while actively giving the dog the freedom to get a good energizing walk. 2mile run in the morning and 1mile walk at night. On the weekends my walks into active run in Delaware park as well as around the neighbor during the week. Small adventures in the elmwood village area are also apart of the walks I take with the dogs

Depending on the age, breed, and abilities of your dog we can go on any type of walk. My pup's energy level varies by season so sometimes we run, play, and fetch on our walks. When it's warmer out she enjoys a more leisurely walk. I am very experienced and comfortable with all types of strolls.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Buffalo

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Buffalo, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Buffalo. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
