Every walk is customized based upon the size of the dog, age, health, etc. I prefer to walk two dogs max at a time so that I'm able to give each animal enough attention. I have access to numerous dog parks in the Jersey City / Hoboken area and know lots of cool spots your dog will enjoy.

• Request a solo or companion walk with my dog Appa (depending on location).
• All walks are leisurely, either around yours/my home's block OR a walk to a nearby park (based on starting location).
• If the nearby park has a dog park, I'm more than happy to take your dog there for 15-20 minutes.
• Will always carry doggy water bottle during walks as well as plastic bags.
• Always cautious to look out for broken glass and undesirable materials dog may consume or sniff.

I can tailor my walks to suit your dog. Since I don't like "pack walking" I prefer not to walk more than 3 dogs at a time, unless they are all very familiar with each other/multiple dogs in one house. For active dogs, I'd go to a park and if possible take them to an off-leash dog park or run. I have no issue with walking older or more anxious/aggressive dogs alone to ensure the safety of your and others' dogs.

I understand that every dog is different from runners, explorers, or just cruises down and around the neighborhood. However I usually like active walks so I always dress prepared! Sad days or sunny power walks are good for us, keeps us all healthy :) and also stress free, who really wants to be lock up inside all day anyway right? I enjoy seeing pets happy and even if it only 30 minutes to an hour your fur babies will enjoy it. Whether is stick, squirrel, bird hunting. Going to the park and meeting new furry friends and having play dates. Or just looking at new stuff and exploring new paths to walks. It's different scenery fun & Healthy for us all.

Hi! My name is Annie and I am a 25 year old pre-k teacher! I work local during the day but my fabulous roommate (my mother) will be home so your dog will have 24/7 care.

I live in a spacious brownstone in downtown Jersey City and have been caring for dogs for as long as I can remember. I was so excited to see this site because I think it’ll be a great way for me to meet new pups! I’m a true dog lover and I recognize how important pets are to their owners. I promise to ensure your dog is loved and cared for while staying with me.

My house is very spacious with a great fenced-in outdoor space. I also live right around the corner from Hamilton Park. They have two awesome dog parks there, one for small dogs and one for larger dogs. I’ll take any excuse to go to the park and would love to bring your dog there.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or to schedule a meet and greet! I encourage you to let me know any likes, dislikes, fears, etc. that your dog may have so that I can personalize his or her stay and ensure he or she is happy and comfortable.

My walks consist of one dog only in order to provide undivided attention to the dog. This allows the pet to be focused on relieving him or herself without worrying about another dog. I will gladly bring them around the home and to a nearby dog park to play with other pets.

I would take the dog or cat for a walk around the block or throughout the neighborhood. If there is a dog park nearby, I could take the dog there to run around and play or if there is a regular park nearby I could also take the dog there. I would have only one dog at a time. It could be a leisure walk or an active walk / run (I always like to get a good workout in and dogs are great running buddies). I would most likely walk to the dog alone unless a friend or family members wants to join in.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Jersey City

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Jersey City, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Jersey City. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
