I am willing and able to provide any level activity that suits your pet's needs. If your dog likes to go for a run in the park I am willing to do just that, however a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood is fine by me as well. I am also open to walking more than one dog at a time, but would be a second animal in the household. I have no animals of my own, so while your pet is in my care, they get all of the attention!

I can go fast or slow dependent on the dog so just let me know what works best for your dog. My big dog is pretty easy to walk so if yours is a good walker as well I might bring him along. If you prefer that the dog be walked solo that is fine too.

I am used to walking multiple dogs at a time. I tailor their excersise based on weather, time of day and activities they enjoy (i.e. Running, fetch, walking, swimming). Whatever the dog finds most comfortable. Safety is always a priority.
I can also work on leash etiquette. I am by no means a professional trainer but I've had the pleasure of difficult dogs and learned a few tricks of the trade by attending behavior and obedience classes. I'd be happy to work on those issues!

The needs of the dog I am providing care for are more important for my own needs, I do many types of walks, all in the benieft of your dog. One dog, or five dogs, I'm the dog walker for you! In rain or shine, your fur friend will have plenty of time to play and interact with other dogs if you want them to be more socialized. Your dog will learn he or she is not the leader of the pack, and that his human walks him and he is not the one walking his human.

Each walk is a unique experience for the dog. I can walk up to 3 large dogs at once. Depending upon the dog’s needs, the pace is determined. For instance, if it is for small dogs, the pace is slower than for larger dogs. For the older dogs, I try to make sure that they get the exercise they need but not at a pace that is strenuous for them. For the younger dogs, I like to give them a brisk walk to give them the exercise they need to help keep them stimulated. I try to vary where we go on each walk if possible to give them new worlds to sniff. Some high energy dogs need to start with a little jog to get them going and excited to be out of an adventure.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Mooresville

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Mooresville, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Mooresville. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
