Hey there!

It's Sofia on this end. We all need a vacation from time to time... and there's no need to feel guilty when you have to leave your pup with me; I'll make sure they feel like *they* are the ones on vacation!

I am the proud mum a 4 year old lovable mutt who is extraordinarily active. When playing tug-of-war or fetch in my large fenced backyard doesn't suffice (and it never does), we'll hop in the car, stop at Dunkin Donuts, and go to Sheepfold's off leash dog park in Stoneham to mingle with more pups and walk the trails for hours. Yes, even in the winter!

When not in playing mode, our dogs can rest and nap on my couch, my bed, or the two doggy beds available. I also have a large wired crate that I can take out to use, if you request.

I do not discriminate between breeds, however I do discriminate between sizes. The bigger the better! Kidding - Love 'em all. Bandit's also known to share a couple of his BarkBox prizes as well.

*** Not for dog walking ***
I'm always in the Fresh Pond area and/or Middlesex Fells. Let me know where you're dog likes to walk and I can arrange a solo walk or group walks.

****************************

Love,
Sofia & Bandit

I grew up with lots of dogs around - my family has been called a bit dog-obsessed. I have been taking of my friends' pups (big and small) for a long time in Boston, including multi-dog households. I know the way to a dog's heart: cuddling, long walks, playing catch, and lots of treats in between. I'm able to take care of your pooch in your house and have a pretty flexible schedule (weekends and holidays especially). Since I can't have a dog in my apartment at the moment, I'd love to take care of yours (as if it's my own)! I understand that different dogs have specific needs and will follow your instructions to a T. I will be a constant communicator, sending photos and updates throughout the day. Friends describe me as super-reliable and fun, which (I think) make me a great candidate for your dog's new best friend!

I personally prefer solo, to concentrate properly on my guest, but multiple buds are fine too! My walks are generally leisurely, with plenty of playtime if wanted or needed, I have experience with senior dogs and puppies alike, I try to have one to one time with the dogs, but I don't exclude dog parks.

I live in area with access to dog parks, hiking trails and easier walks for older or more sedentary dogs. I can customize the walk to the dogs needs, whether that involves running, avoiding other animals, off leash hikes, or a casual stroll. I have over five years of professional dog walking experience and over thirteen of casual experience.

Walks will be catered to dogs physical ability, the point would be to tire them out so they are not restless back at home. This walk can include a trip to the local dog park. I have trained guide dogs for the blind in the past so I have experience with training leash walking. I can train your dog to walk without pulling.

We offer leisure walks as well as walks to a park for playing. We like to walk just one dog unless they are from the same house. We are right by the the bike bath in Somerville, about a mile to the Arlington dog park and 2 streets over from a lovely park.

Welcome to your pup's extended family! I have had a furry friend nearly all my life.. I am a proud mom of a 5+ years old yellow Labrador retriever and we call him Also! Also is handsome, intelligent and a fun loving pup! Your baby will be well taken care of in our home. I have a very flexible schedule and work most days of the week from home so I have ample time to play and watch your babies..They will not be left alone for long hours. Check out our reviews!!!!!!!

Whether you are going for a few hours or a few days we would be happy to watch your precious one.. More so, he/she will have my yellow lab to play with! Therefore, I would prefer to board only those pups that are house broken and friendly with other dogs. We take guest pups out for several daily walks , mini road trips to closeby parks and offleash time(if allowed), so they feel at ease while being away from their parents. All this for no additional cost! It is a part of our extended family experience.. We feed grain-free, all natural treats, have ample bones and chews to play with during their stay with us!

Whenever i have had to drop Also at a daycare or a friend's house , all I ever wondered was what was he up to? did he play? is he happy? Have you ever felt that too? If you book with us, we promise to not only love your baby but also capture his/her precious moments so you can smile and be at peace wherever you are! I will email you pictures, videos etc. of your little one every day of the boarding...at no additional cost!

I will offer 10% discount for Military or full time students or for stays over 14 days! Bookings around all major holidays an additional $10 added to the boarding and daycare rate.

Pictures of our happy guests are on my profile! enjoy!

I have a river near my apartment where I could walk your dog. There is also a program called Wag Wednesday where I live. I could bring your dog down for some treats and to associate with other dogs. There are many dogs in my apartment complex most of which I know and are very friendly. There are also many parks around my area.

I enjoy leisurely walks with one dog that are 30-60 minutes long. I love going on trails or walking paths, but I can walk dogs in the city as well. I am experienced with dogs that are not well leash-trained and pull. I'm willing to walk dogs of all sizes.

Top tips for getting started with a dog walker in Somerville

  1. Look for a dog walker who has passed a background check.
  2. Ask a DogVacay dog walker for a free Meet-n-Greet. Take your pet for a short stroll in Somerville, letting the dog walker hold the leash. You’ll know quickly if this is the right person for your pet.
  3. Then visit your home with the dog walker, so your pet becomes comfortable with this person in the dog’s territory.
  4. Make plans for letting the DogVacay dog walker into your home. Some people may feel comfortable providing a key. Others keep a key in a combination lockbox. Many people use smart locks and programmable key codes.
  5. Discuss the length and route of the walk in your neighborhood in Somerville. Cover what kind of updates you want (such as a “bathroom” log or behavior notes).
  6. Explain what your treat policy is after a walk. Keep treats safely stored, and let the dog walker know where to find them.
  7. Make sure your pet has the right harnesses, collars, leashes and equipment for a safe and fun walk.
